Chapter 14: Unveiling hidden desiresBella notices and feels the absence of daughter Renesmee presence since all she does is spend most of her time at work and with Jacob and his wolf pack it . She had to stop this relationship from getting any further that's why she personally didn't invite Jacob to Nessie's birthday party for this upcoming Friday when Edward was typing up the invitations she told him not o include Jacob in that list he hesitated at first but then he agreed. For weeks, Bella had been putting on a brave face, pretending to approve of Renesmee and Jacob's relationship. She watched as her daughter and Jacob went on dates, spending more and more time together with his family. Outwardly, she smiled and supported them, but deep inside, anger simmered within her.
Bella knew she had to find a way to break the imprinting bond between Jacob and Renesmee. She couldn't bear the thought of her daughter being tied to someone so closely, especially at such a young age. Determined to find a solution, she spent countless hours at local libraries, delving into occult books and researching ancient rituals.
One evening, as Bella was browsing through a book she had borrowed from the library, she stumbled upon a chapter about witch covens that originated from Forks. Her curiosity piqued, she read about the Wessex coven, a lineage of powerful women who reigned over all paranormal creatures, both old and new.
A spark of hope ignited within Bella. Perhaps, she thought, if she could contact the Wessex coven, they might have the knowledge or ability to sever the bond between Jacob and Renesmee. But how could she reach them? As she continued flipping through the pages, a particular incantation caught her eye. It was a summoning spell to call forth the head witch of the Wessex coven, Eleni Drakos.
Bella's heart raced with anticipation. She swiveled around in her computer chair, sliding back from her desk. Opening the drawer on the side, she retrieved a letter opener. With a deep breath, she pricked her finger, wincing at the pain, and allowed a few drops of blood to fall onto the page featuring the head witch's image.
Closing her eyes, Bella began to recite the incantation under her breath. The words flowed from her lips, carrying her desires and desperation into the unseen realm. She hoped that Eleni Drakos would hear her plea and offer a solution to her predicament.
As Bella finished the incantation, a sense of anticipation filled the room. She opened her eyes, her heart pounding in her chest. Would her call be answered? Or was this all just a futile attempt to change the course of fate?
Days turned into weeks, and Bella anxiously awaited a response. Doubt began to creep into her mind, questioning the validity of her actions. Had she made a mistake? Was there truly a way to break the bond between Jacob and Renesmee?
But just as she was about to give up hope, a letter arrived at her doorstep. The envelope bore the emblem of the Wessex coven, and Bella's hands trembled as she tore it open. Inside, a handwritten note from Eleni Drakos awaited her.
"Dear Isabella," the letter began, "Your call has been heard. I understand the turmoil within your heart, and I believe I can offer you a solution. Meet me at the old stone circle in the woods at midnight. We shall discuss your desires further."
Excitement and trepidation mingled within Bella as she read the words. Finally, a glimmer of hope appeared on the horizon. She knew that meeting Eleni Drakos would be a risk, but she was willing to do whatever it took to protect her daughter.
With newfound determination, Bella prepared herself for the meeting that could potentially change everything. Little did she know that delving into the world of witches and covens would lead her down a path she never could have imagined, where secrets and ancient powers awaited her. Edward's suspicions grew as Bella replied to his question about the letter she was holding onto when he walked in on her reading it, claiming it was from her mother, Renee. He knew something was off. Bella hadn't spoken to her mother since the beginning of the year, when she declined Renee's offer to spend New Year's with them. The fact that Bella was receiving a letter from her now seemed highly unlikely.
"Oh, okay," Edward responded, his eyes fixed on Bella. He knew she wasn't being truthful, but he decided to let her lie. He understood that she had been putting on a brave face regarding Renesmee dating Jacob and spending more time with his family than with their own. It was a difficult situation for Bella, and he wanted to support her.
Taking the letter from her hands, Edward placed it gently on top of the desk. He kneeled down in front of Bella, who was seated in a chair, and looked into her eyes. "How about we gather up some snacks and go play chess outside, like we used to do?" he suggested, hoping to distract her from whatever was troubling her. "It's nice out, and we can get some fresh air and relieve some stress through the game."
A smile slowly spread across Bella's face as she caressed Edward's cheek, her eyes filled with love. "Okay, but only because you asked so nicely," she replied, leaning in to give him an eskimo kiss. They both giggled, feeling a momentary respite from the weight of their worries.
Linking arms, they rose from their seats and headed downstairs to prepare for their chess game. Edward couldn't help but feel a sense of relief. Though he knew Bella was keeping something from him, he also knew that their love and trust would guide them through any challenges they faced.
As they gathered snacks and set up the chessboard outside, the warm sunlight enveloped them, casting a golden glow on their surroundings. Edward watched Bella's face, noticing the way her worries seemed to fade as they focused on the game ahead.
They settled into their chairs, the chess pieces poised for battle. Edward couldn't help but marvel at Bella's determination and resilience. She had faced countless obstacles, yet she never once left his side even when his world did nothing but bring her pain and loss over the years.
As they played, their laughter filled the air, mingling with the gentle breeze. Edward cherished these moments, knowing that they were fleeting and precious. He was grateful for the opportunity to share this simple joy with Bella, to momentarily forget the complexities of their world.
As the game progressed, Edward couldn't help but notice the way Bella's eyes sparkled with a newfound lightness. It was as if the weight of her worries had been momentarily lifted, replaced by the joy of their shared laughter and the thrill of the game.
They played for hours, losing track of time as they immersed themselves in the competition. Edward marveled at Bella's strategic moves, her determination evident in every calculated decision. It was a reminder of the strength she possessed, a strength that had drawn him to her from the very beginning.
Eventually, the sun began to set, casting a warm, orange glow over the horizon. Edward watched as Bella's face softened, her eyes filled with a mixture of contentment and exhaustion. It was time to bring their game to a close.
With a final move, Edward captured Bella's last remaining piece, declaring victory. But as he looked into her eyes, he realized that the true victory lay in the bond they shared, in their ability to find solace and joy in each other's presence.
As they packed up the chessboard and snacks, Edward couldn't help but feel a renewed sense of hope. He knew that there were challenges ahead, secrets to be revealed, and difficult conversations to be had. But in that moment, as they walked hand in hand back to the house, he knew that spending time together and occupying her mind with chess and his company is just what she needed. And as they entered the house, he decides not to press bella anymore about the truth that lay within the letter, Edward had to trust that bella heart was in the right place .
