Chapter 2: Returning to Class

Halloween ended swiftly and a new month started, which meant classes were going to be starting once more. Lilah's alarm blared in her ears as she laid in bed ignoring it, she could only hit the snooze button for so long before she would be late to classes though. Lilah groaned as she slapped her phone off the bed to shut it up. Her body rose slowly, sitting on her legs rubbing the sleep from her eyes and yawning, she finally decided to get up and leaned over her bed to pick up her phone from the floor.

"Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh" a long groan escaped her as she flopped her head back into her pillow with her ass in the air. A loud bang burst through her room causing the lazy teen to collapse on her side so she could face the now opened door.

"Lilah!?" The short Asian burst through the door with one hand on the handle, the over behind the door frame in the hallway, as his head moved around the room rapidly. Eventually he looked behind the door to find his friend almost half naked in bed still, Shinji strutted around the door dramatically to lift up his friend by the shoulders and slapping her face repeatedly. "WHY. ARE. YOU. STILL. IN. BED!?" he spoke each slap before his hand was grabbed by the taller of the trio.

"Instead of slapping and screaming at her, why don't you get her clothes?" Jerimiah spoke sternly, making his friend shy away to look for Lilah's uniform.

"Or you could maybe, I dunno, go away?" Lilah glared at the boys as they invaded her room and prevented her from sleeping.

"No, it's the first day back. Get up." Jerimiah grabbed her arm and dragged her off the bed as she continued to groan. Shinji handed Lilah her uniform and pushed her into the small bathroom for her to get ready, the boys giving each other a little exasperated sigh.

After twenty minutes the trio had finally gathered in the assembly hall for morning announcements. "I hate going to these, we get told the same thing almost all the time" Lilah sighed and slouched in her chair.

"The sooner it finishes, the sooner we can go to class, it's English first" Shinji whispered back to her and they shared a little grin which put them into a better mood, it was the only class the trio had together this year.

It didn't take long for the assembly to start and the headteacher's voice boomed through the hall. "Good Morning everyone, welcome back and I hope you all had a great week away from classes. First of all, I would like to remind everyone about exams, make sure you turn up to your classes and revise accordingly." a series of groans of displeasure started throughout the room at his words. "Second of all, now this is more serious, people have been going missing in town and in the woods. Nobody should go anywhere alone and be careful when going anywhere isolated, especially during the later hours of the day." His voice began to fade out as some late stragglers began to wander into the hall.

"People are going missing? No surprise there" Jacoub giggled as the demons sat in a row of chairs at the back of the hall, the chair squeaking a little as he leaned back into it further.

"I've heard about it. Mostly seems to be younger adults or anyone athletic mostly" Rhea joined the conversation as she stared at the ceiling blowing bubbles into her gum.

Connor looked to his left at Marian as the assembly continued about events this term and other exams information. The older man grunted and looked towards the front like his younger friend.

"If you wanna say something Connor, then say it." Marian whispered and sighed

"I don't know what you might be talking about boss" He cleared his throat and took a glance back towards his friend, making eye contact when finding her looking back at him.
