I wake up with a start, I can hear loud bangs outside your hotel window and my phone says it's half three in the morning. Somewhere, not far off, I hear wailing sirens.
And that's when the power goes off.
The emergency lights black out, my phone stops charging and somebody squeals in the room next door.
"What's wrong, Joe?" A man calls out, his voice is deep and accented and I recognise it from somewhere. He sounds tired, like he's just been woken up.
"Sorry, mate." Another familiar voice says, "The power went out... Something's wrong."
Outside of my door, I hear pattering feet and a sharp knock... But it's not on my door.
Stumbling to your feet, I walk over to the wall to listen into the conversation next door.
"Joe? Joe? Are you alright? Is Caspar alright?"
"Zo, I'm fine. Are you? Where's Alfie."
What the heck?
"He's gone to check Marcus and Naomi are good. Tanya's checking in on Louise down the corridor."
"Where's Jim?"
"Checking on other rooms."
What's going on?
"Caspar, quick, get dressed. Something's wrong."
It's really them!
I'm not sure if I'm scared stiff or giddy with excitement but before I can decide, there's a knock at my door.
"Are you alright?" A girl's voice calls "You need to get out of your room and come with us..."
"Zoe!" I cry, half terrified, half ecstatic "Wh- What's happening?" I unlock the door and a figure walks in.
"Hey," she says "Good, you know me. We don't know what's happening but you need to come into mine and Alfie's room." She looks down at me, squinting. "How old are you?" She asks, in the darkness.
"Fourteen," I mumble "My parents went out for dinner. Where are they?"
"I don't know." The figure says, sadly. She turns on a phone and  face literally lights up.
It's Zoe Sugg. Zoella.
Is this some kind of prank?
"Zoe?" A figure holding a torch bursts in and looks at me.
Joe Sugg.
"C'mon." He says to us "Everybody on the floor's alright."
                        ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
There's quite a few of us crowded into one master suite. I'm still having trouble believing I'm in a lockdown with all my favourite British youtubers.
I know everybody in the room, well, mostly. There's Zoe, Joe, Marcus, Naomi, Louise, Jim, Tanya and Alfie. And then a couple named Carlos and Emily and a teenaged girl, a little older than me called Lycia, her parents were going out too, like mine.
"What're we going to do?" Carlos asks everybody, bear in mind he was the oldest in the room by decades.
"Well first we're gonna find out what the hell is happening." Marcus says "And then we're gonna find the girls' parents and our other friends."
"What other friends?" I blurt out, probably louder than I should have.
"Troye, Tyler and Connor are down the road with Louis and Connor's friend Clara." Alfie says, checking his phone for signal and shaking his head.
"Great." Caspar sighs "What're we gonna do then?"
Before anybody can answer, the power flickers back on and the TV in the room flashes on.
"...break of crime in New York City after a prison outbreak on Brooklyn... People are advised to stay in their homes and stock up on sup-" and suddenly the screen goes static, but the power's still on.
"A prison outbreak?" Naomi repeats, looking scared "What about the boys and Clara?"
"What about us?"  Carlos says, angrily "There are madmen running over the city and my wife and I are stuck with eight damn Brits who're so stupid they can't get a real job so have to make money by documenting their lives and two teenage girls who'll no doubt get in our way!"
I flare up, how dare he say stuff like that! How dare he!
"If you don't like us, then why don't you just leave us alone!" I yell at him.
He looks at me, glaring into my soul, but doesn't move. Almost as of he knows he needs us to survive.
"I say we get out of here," Jim says, holding Tanya's hand. "If there's criminals around, they're going to make their way in here... Loot the place."
Just as he finishes speaking, we hear gunshots several stories down, Joe, Marcus, Caspar, Naomi and I all jump to our feet with the others following suit.
"We need to go." Joe says urgently "Come on Lycia." He grabs Lycia's arm and drags her up.
"What do we do?" Tanya says, grabbing her phone from the sideboard.
"The windows," Zoe says, she seems quiet and breathless and I begin to wonder why I'm not freaking out too.
"That's ridiculous," Carlos says "Smashing the window would draw attention to us and-"
But he doesn't get to finish the sentence, time seems to slow down as one million things happen at once.
Something hard and grey flies through the huge, glass windows as the door and reinforcements are knocked to the ground, three men carrying guns begin to shoot and Marcus yells for us to get to the window. Somebody - a girl - screams as I rush to the broken window. I slip through easily, I'm quite slim, and without thinking
I jump.

What do you think? Is this alright? It's not too cheesy is it?
