FLASHBACK

"ISABELLA! IM HOME".Isabella finished writing the last sentence of her essay before turning to see her mom's entering the kitchen smiling at her.

Valentina walked behind her daughter and settled a kiss on her head. before walking around the counter getting something out of the fridge.

"how was school today amor?" her mother asked while placing the chicken she got out the fridge on the counter "it was good, just got assigned a little more work than usual but other than that, school was fine"

"thats good amor, and how's Brandon?" Valentina asked her daughter who was in front of her, putting her things away in her backpack.

" he's good, he got a perfect score on his test" Isabella said as she put the last of her supplies in her black Jansport backpack.

"that's good pequeña, I'm glad he's doing better with his grades" she said starting to cook the chicken she finished preparing.

the whole night when Isabella and her mom were cooking and eating they were catching up with each other, on school,work, any person they have their eye on but most of all just laughing at jokes they made.

when it was time to go to bed Isabella was doing her night routine,taking a shower, brushing her hair, brushing her teeth and doing her skincare when Valentina came into her room just to find her in the bathroom putting on serums.

Valentina leaned on the door frame looking at Isabella before Isabella turned to her left and looked at her mother "qué pasó?" she asked while putting away the serum she was using in the drawer.

"nothing i just came to tell you that tomorrow morning your not going too see me because I have to go in early" Valentina said Isabella nodded her head turning off the bathroom lights and walking past her mom making her way to her bed with her mom following behind.

"goodnight muñeca" Valentina said as she walked over to Isabella who was already in bed, giving her a kiss on her forehead.

"buenas noches mama, te amo" Isabella said "te quiero más" Valentina said as she walked out her daughter's room not knowing this was the last time she was going to see her daughter again and say "I love you".

PRESENT

"no please tell me it isn't true!" Isabella asked the three adults who were in front on her before looking at Victoria her mom's best friend ever since she moved here to New York.

"I'm sorry amor, she was in a car crash when she was returning home." Victoria said giving a apologetic face, Isabella kept looking away with tears in her eyes while her breath hitched.

"look isa Victoria is taking you out, and again I'm so sorry for you loss" Mr.Hilton the assistant principal said to Isabella as she got up and put her backpack on, on her right side.

Isabella nodded and walked out of the principal's room making her way out of the building with Victoria following behind.

the whole car ride back to Isabella's home was quite,the whole time she was looking out the window listening to "Ocean eyes" by Billie Eilish because it reminded her of her mothers eyes that were the color of a ocean.

When Isabella arrived home she ran and locked herself in her room crying,texting her friends why she left school early and they all send there condolences to her, because Valentina was a parent who let Isabella do anything she wanted but as long as she was okay,and she also cared about Isabella and wanted to be involved in her life.

she also acted like a parent to Isabella's friends so they knew how Isabella was feeling.

the whole night Isabella was locked up in her room crying didn't come out to eat even though Victoria begged her but didn't push her because she had more news for her.
