A bright light then emitted from her before she fell onto the floor. I carefully take the wires off her and lift her in my arms. I gently place her into a nearby cart. I wheel her down the hallway and stop at my office.
I walked in locking the doors. Then I move the bookshelf on the wall over revealing a button. Pushing the button I can hear a sizzle sound.
And at that moment.
I grabbed the cart and some files.
And ran.
I very quickly ran to the closest exit I could find. It wasn't very easy as the factory is underground. I can already hear some tnt exploding from the bottom floors of the factory.
We found an elevator. At this moment I didn't care if it wasn't safe.
We need to get out of here.
I push the cart with Jaiden on and push for the top floor. I can hear the tent getting quieter the higher we go up.
We were 2 floors above flat ground. We were almost there. I could feel the joy run through my body.
But then. We stopped. The light turned off. The panic set in. I calmed myself down. If I don't act now we will both go down. I can't let that happen. I grab the files and stuff them in my shirt. Then I grab jaiden.
Above the elevator there is a trap door. If I could put the brakes on the cart , I could climb it and reach the door. So that is exactly what I do. When I was getting ready to jump I felt the elevator move. I stood still in silence. I could hear the tent at least a few floors underneath me.
It's now or never.
I quickly jump up and lift myself up the hatch. The elevator then made a loud creek and fell a little. I look around for a way to climb up. Seeing a ladder I threw myself at it and started climbing. The minute I got up one bar the elevator fell and hit the bottom with a loud bang. Don't look down. I quickly climbed up the ladder. At the top there was another hatch. But it was stuck. Then I made the mistake of looking down. I could see the explosions of the tent below me. I can't do this.
I worked this hard and I can't give up.
I use my body to push open the door. Pulling jaiden with me. I ran. And I kept running.
