What is that guy's deal? Is he trying to make fun of me or something? Thoughts like these continued to plague your head the entire trip back home. You scoff to yourself.

Kuroo had offered to walk you back home which you declined. Even if you wanted his company, which you didn't, the walk from his to yours was short, no more than six minutes. And since Kenma lived in the house directly next to his friend, also in walking distance of you, it was convenient for you whenever you wanted to see him outside of school.

'Why do you keep obsessing over Kenma knowing he won't see you as anything more than a friend? Don't you think you deserve better?'

His words rang in your ears once again. Part of you knows he's right. There might be some truth to those words. Deep down you had the feeling Kenma would never look at you in any way that isn't platonic. But it's never that simple to just... get over someone, especially when they're the one person you've been pining on for years. Easier said than done. You almost wanted to hit yourself in the head to stop hearing that taunting voice of his.

Was he saying this to provoke you? Yes. Or maybe that's just what you thought. He didn't mean any harm. He was genuinely curious. Whereas you had been obsessing over one person for almost half of your life, he never had a crush that lasted more than two weeks. It would make sense why he'd want to hear the opinion of someone that much different from him. Curiosity is a virtue.
