"𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺" Jake told Nova after practice annoyed she took so long but novas mind was full with weird ideas and feelings right now.

one of them being her maybe feeling something other then hate for Nelson Neumann.

"sorry j i won't again i promise" Nora said apologetically to her older brother "it's fine" he responded.

while in the car on the ride home jake started talking but nora wasn't listening consumed by her odd thoughts until she heard "by the way your babysitting Nile's tonight at the Neumanns" coming out of her brothers mouth.

"Oh okay what time?" nora asked anxiously for some reason she wanted time to get ready before she had to go.

"like 6:00 i think cassie said" jake told her looking at her in the mirror while driving home.

"okay cool it's 5:00 𝗽𝗺 right" she asked nervously

"yea it is"

𝗡𝗼𝗿𝗮 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗿𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 into her house hopping in the shower then drying and straightening her hair then applying mascara,lipgloss,concealer,and blush feeling pretty after.

"nora let's go come on Cassie's waiting!" Jake said desperately having a date to go on after dropping his sister off. (guess who's the date with 🤭)

"coming omg damn chill!" nova yells rushing down the stairs in grey baggy sweats and a align tank with air forces on. (basic ik u guys can change it if u want)

𝟭𝟬 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 and Nora's on the Neumanns front door step ringing the door bell waiting anxiously for someone to answer since she's scared of the dark and night.

Nelson comes to the door and opens it confused.

Nova looks at nelson and he's wearing grey sweats and a black compression shirt. He looks good.

"what are you doing here nova?" nelson asked sounding kinda annoyed which made Nora a little sad for some reason.

"um Cassie said i'm babysitting nile's?" Nora said in a questioning voice wondering why nelson didn't know.

"Bro she forgot to tell you that i was free again?" nelson questioned

"yea i guess so" Nora said now kinda embarrassed since she's there for basically no reason now.

"well call Jake to come get you" nelson said almost closing the door.

"i can't he's on a date and my parents are out of town and there's no uber's." Nora explained rolling her eyes.

"so you can chill here i guess nile's is sleeping anyways wanna play ball?" before Nora could answer nelson was already off to get his ball.

"let's go up to 6 yea?" she nodded in agreement.

"u get ball first north pole" nelson said nonchalantly

"What did you just call me butter stick?" they both smile at each other.

𝗕𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀

nelson touches nora's waist again and she decided to bring it up.

"𝘆𝗼 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁" nova asks looking at him in confusion.

"Doing what?" nelson asks looking at her in even more confusion.

"touching my waist you can get by without doing that" nora tells him looking in his eyes

"Oh shit sorry i didn't mean to make you uncomfortable i was just playing ball but i'm sorry i'm glad you told me" nelson said genuinely meaning what he was saying.

"nah your good" 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗶𝗺.

𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝘄𝗼.

"Wanna go inside and watch a movie or something?" 𝗻𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲.

"yea sure i'm your room since nile's is sleeping in the living room" Nora asks knowing a joke is coming.

"damn you really want to be in my bed huh?" nelson asks with a tight lined smile.

"yea i do" Nora replied jokingly

nelson all flustered just looked the other way wondering why his cheeks were turning pink.

they then go in nelson's room and lay together on the top bunk watching the sandlot a little awkward tension between them since they're so close together due to the top bunk being a twin size.

"i'm getting kinda sleepy" Nora says with a yawn halfway thru the movie where the sandlot boys are looking at Wendy Peffercorn.

"Go to sleep then" nelson says like it's the most obvious thing in the world looking at Nora in her sleepy eyes.

"but don't i have to sleep down there or are your parents okay with us sharing a bed?" Nora asks not wanting to get nelson in trouble with his parents.

"nah your cool just sleep here i won't do anything and they won't get mad i promise pink promise" nelson exclaims while holding out his pinky.
