POV- Clico.
I stole the golden knight's necklace. I wonder how much I could get for it in the other galaxies. i had it stored on a cushion in my satchel. I unwrapped the blanket and saw it. It contained part of the cure for the hatred and the disease.
Anundro and I ran through streets of gold trying to get the hell out of the empire. The knights were quick on out tail and the alarms were sounding. They might have been fast but I was faster.
I couldn't believe I had done it! I saw my partner Anundro in the front seat of our buggy.
"How much further," I yelled above the engine as it roared.
"Not sure! We're gonna be traveling through a shit ton of heat id be ready for the worst!" He yelled back.
"Sounds good," I yelled over, though I don't think he heard me.
There was a giant sand dune ahead that we had to get over to our pickup point. I flung up my scarf over my nose to keep the sands out of my face as we started to gain altitude. Anundro pulled his scarf over his nose as well. More and more sand had begun to fall into our faces as we climbed steeper.
I was dressed in black and some darker colors while Anundro was in colors that matched the desert.
"CLICO YOU RUTHLESS BASTARD DO YOU SEE THAT IN THE SKY?!? " Anundro yelled at me after taking a glance behind us while driving.
"What?" I said as I looked back.
I could see a golden orb drop into the sand below. Minutes later the orb exploded and we couldn't see a thing.
"ANUNDRO! WHAT HAPPENED?!" I screamed at him.
I could barely hear a thing because my ears were in shock. They were ringing and I finally looked up at the drivers seat. He wasn't there.
"CMON CLICO GET OUT THE DAMN
BUGGY WE GOTTA GO!" Anundro grabbed my hand and dragged me out of the buggy.I grabbed one of the hooks from the side and threw it up the cliff. I held Anundro close so that way we wouldn't fall. I started climbing up the cliff away from the knights.
"You okay," I asked exhausted as I climbed.
"Yeah, I just have some injuries. I should be fine though, yeah?" He looked down.
"We should be okay. They're far down there now," I said with reassurance.
I continued the climb in the heat. Anundro looked exhausted. I was almost to the top. Just a little longer... The heat beat against my face.
Sweat dropped down into my scarf. I struggled to breathe with the harsh atmosphere.I finally felt the cliff. I could barely hear the bombs from down below. I hoisted Anundro on the top of the rocks. After I finished, I used the rest of my strength and rolled onto the top. I took deep breaths in and out. My chest rose and fell. I looked at the orange sky. I felt a sandy wind start to blow in our direction. I heard the bombs fade and eventually they went quiet.
"We made it you son of a bitch," I sighed as I patted Anundro on the back.
"We sure as hell did," He replied in exhaustion.
"Hey look out there," I said , pointing in the distance opposite of where we came.
"Here. Have the spyglass," Anundro replied, throwing me the scope.
I looked through and About 30-40 Miles away was a sandstorm brewing. These looked way bigger than our home planet. I looked at Anundro and I started searching the rocks for the keys we left here. I felt deep into the cracks but couldn't reach. I grabbed one of my smaller hooks to get into the crack. I had to retrieve the keys quickly or we would get caught in the storm.
I retrieved the keys and saw our ship above us. It started to lower itself as the storm got eerily closer. I hopped in first and got in the pilot seat."C'mon Anundro! Get in quickly!" I shouted at him.
Aunundro looked to be struggling. He had multiple wounds from getting away from the knights and heat alone. The storm wasn't getting any further away.
"CMON ANUNDRO GET INSIDE!!!" I screamed at him.
"I am sorry but I cannot. I am too injured and you already have your prize," he began as he walked up towards the ship. "Take these, you'll need them."
He put a big box in the passenger seat.
"It was my time anyway, now go before it's too late," He waved goodbye and collapsed to the ground out of exhaustion.A tear slipped from my eye as I started the thrusters and started to fly. I saw the necklace in the chamber in the back along with the storm consuming my best friend. Anundro was a good man. A very good teacher as well now that I had thought of it. I couldn't reminisce because I had to get my prize to my dealer, make me some money, and get the fuck out of the planet we all like to call Goldenheart.
I found it ironic because I had a golden heart necklace from the knight herself in the ship.
I remember growing up not being able to live the way I had wanted. Playing by rules and serving others. It lead me to harsh consequences of my mind and heart. I checked out the scars on my arms and patched them up.I began to leave Goldenheart's atmosphere and into the vacuum of space.
I typed the location in on the screen. I needed to get the quickest route towards the city of the cosmos. That's where my dealer was.
They traded jewelry, artifacts, art, Currency, you name it. A relationship between a dealer and a thief is always beneficial. They get what they want, I get what I want.
I could hear the hum of the engine as I began my way towards the city of cosmos. I watched Goldenheart fade away in the back window as I sped up and away towards the city. I put my ship on autopilot and hopped into the back. I secured the necklace in a better built box. I saw some letters from my friends before I left the planet hundreds of years ago.
I saw Anundro's area. He had some tapes of him. I saw some photos hung up too. He had a family back home. Poor guy was only in the thief business to help out his family. Respect to the guy, I could never do that lovey dovey bullshit.
I flew past other planets and my board said I'd be to the city in about an hour. I read some of the letters he had written before missions. He usually sent regards to his family. This mission however, didn't have a letter. I think the sad thing is, is he knew he was going out. He had a chance but decided to not make it.
I saw stars of the cosmos line up ahead. I jumped back into the pilot seat, turned off autopilot, and headed full speed ahead. The stars began to disappear as I skyrocketed into the city limits.
I flew past numerous buildings and skyscrapers. Gunshots were heard as well as protests and other streets were calm. I saw the main tower and lifted the ship up to the top.
1 deployed the landing gears and safely landed into the platform as it went down into the building. I released my harness, grabbed the box, stuffed it in my black satchel, and hopped out of the ship. The ship shut off and I began to wander down the stairs and closed the steel door with a
BAM!It was quiet at the higher floors as I walked down the spiral of the tower. I reached the VIP floor after awhile of stepping down the staircase. I felt along the door with my gloves and opened the door. I walked down the hall and reached the door.
I gave it a good knock.
The door opened and I went inside.
"Hello Narcissus. Hello Anton," I bowed greeting them both.
"Hello," they replied.
"I assume you have quite the story to tell us eh? Along with the necklace?" Anton said.
"'You better bet your money on it," I said with
a sneer."Welcome to the club Clico," Anton said, shaking my hand.
"Welcome," Narcissus said shaking my hand as well.
"Well you see... it all began when I started the ship and I.."
