The Prophecy
Emma Springwood a lovely child, born into this world of new. was said to be very beautiful.Though her fate was going to be taken on a ruel journey, one in which she will have to seek deep down in her heart to understand. But now she has to learn how to tackle more simple things. Setting aside the paper with the list of meetings that were to be held today, Emma looked up at the clock a few strands of her auburn hair falling in front of her eyes. With a huff or air she successfully managed to get the strand out of her vision. Now able to read the clock, Emma could clearly see it was exactly eight thirty. Her boss had a meeting with the CEO of a marketing company two blocks down the road. Making a note of that she looked over her desk thinking about tidying up. She still had her empty cup of coffee from three hours ago sitting next to the small monitor. Giving her desk another look, she noticed the finished paperwork she had to give to her boss pretty soon. Though she had no idea what it was about, she was only instructed to make sure all the places that needed to be signed were signed. Not by her of course, but by her other coworker's.
with the slam of a door to the right of her Emma flinched and turned her golden gaze to the cause of such a loud sound. Her boss was standing there looking pissed off as ever, but today it seemed to be worse. When she caught his eyes though, a chill was sent down her spine. One so chilling it made her look away. Her eyes met the stack of papers once more and remembered she had to give them to him. With a sharp quiet in take of breath she held the papers up and looked at the man's shoes.
"Everything that is supposed to be signed is signed correctly Mr. Dain.", Emma said. Her tone was calm and professional, even though she felt like another angry look for him would kill her.
Mr.Dain took the papers from the auburn colored hair woman with a huff and put them in his bag.
" I need you to cancel all of my meetings for tomorrow. If anyone asks why, tell them I had family matters.", He said.
His voice was strong and brought power to the room. Yet it was also velvet soft and warm. Well in this case as warm as desert sand. Emma gave him a short nod before turning back to her computer, so she could start cancelling his meetings. But with a sound almost like a growl her face was pulled in the direction of her boss. Her golden eyes met his storming green ones.
"You haven't told anyone, have you?",He asked. Emma shivered again from his intense gaze and this seemed to only anger the man before her. Quickly she mustered the courage to speak and answer him.
"I haven't told anyone about what I saw, I was trying to forget about it and you had to bring it up.", She snaps at him feeling rage taking over her without her consent.
In that moment when he stepped closer to her she flinched regretting how she spoke to him. He was on the verge of grabbing her when he pulled away and stormed off down the hall. It had confused her as to why he did so. Though it also was something normal. Since that day she walked into his office and saw what she had seen, he hadn't laid a hand on her. Even tried to avoid touching her at all even if it was just a brush of fingers. Though she was grateful for it she was also curious as to what changed his ways. Looking back at the clock again she sighed that only ten minutes had passed. She still had an hour left to work. Finishing up what she was asked to do, she picked up her empty cup of coffee and walked down the hall to the stairs.
Only the higher ups were allowed to use the elevator. Even being the ceo's secretary didn't give her a pass to using it. Stepping off the last step, her auburn hair settling on her shoulders, she gasped for air as someone had knocked into her. But it wasn't that which made her gasp. It was the feeling of the burning fire she felt when the person knocked into her.
