Why the hell am I in a bank? Was I always just in the bank the entire time and fainted out of fear? That has to be it, I had that crazy dream about the intruder because I fainted in a bank. Of course that was all just a dream, now I'm back to reality. For a second I thought I was going crazy.
I look around me finally and see that everyone is sitting on the ground while the robbers are talking about their next move. People are crying quietly, or at least trying to. How do I not remember anything before that crazy dream? Man, I must have been freaking out so bad I don't remember how I got to the bank, or even what I ate this morning. All this thinking and confusion is hurting my damn head.
I start moving slowly and quietly a little towards a desk that's behind me so I feel more safe and secure. As I make it safely behind the desk, there's also a man behind here. We make eye contact. He looked familiar. I feel like I have seen this man before. When the man made eye contact with me, he looked a bit confused. Or like he has seen a ghost.
"What's your name?" The man says to me.
Why does he want to know my name during this time?
"My name is Sam, what's yours?"
He just looks at me. Doesn't even respond. Did I do something wrong? Well of course I didn't all I did was answer his question. Maybe he thought I was someone else and got disappointed it wasn't who he thought. I guess I can understand why he would get disappointed right now during this time, it would be nice to see a familiar face while fearful of your life at this very moment.
I don't pressure him for his name. All I do is just smile at him and stop making eye contact with him. The robbers ask if there are any more policemen in here. I'm guessing they don't want any law enforcement in here while they try to do their robbery. The man next to me then pokes me to look down into his hand. He's showing me his badge. His name is Aaron.
Then something hits me. This is the cop that was in my crazy dream with the intruder breaking into my house. Is this a dream too? No, it can't be. That would be insane, this can't be a dream because it's way too detailed for it to even be a dream. Why do I feel like I'm going insane right now? What the hell is going on?
I want to tell him about my dream. But I don't want to look like a crazy woman. That's the last thing I need. Why did he trust me with his secret, that he's a cop? The robbers don't want him there.
"You only have an hour Sam," Aaron says,
What the hell does he mean I only have an hour?
"What do you mean I only have an hour?"
"I can't explain right now, but make sure you always keep an eye on a clock"
I have no idea what he means by that, but I will take note of that anyways. I'm starting to get creeped out, but if this guy is trying to help me then I will listen to every little thing he says to me, even if I have zero clue what the hell he is talking about.
"What's your plan for getting us out of here?"
Aaron looks at me oddly when I ask him that.
"Hoping the hour ends before he kills us"
"What the hell do you mean you hope the hour ends before he kills us? You can't just lay that on someone and expect them not to freak out". I say angrily.
Aaron then slowly looks up from behind me, then out of nowhere, I get dragged up to my feet by one of the robbers.
"Why the hell are you talking!"
I don't respond at all, because of how scared I am. I am now frozen with fear.
"Well? Speak or I'll shoot you and your friend".
Aaron then admittedly stands up. "Sorry for my friend, she just really has to use the bathroom and won't shut up about it. Don't mind her at all."
The robber then looks at me, with his eyebrow-raising waiting for me to respond to that.
"Um... Yes, yes. Sorry sir just I have to go. I have an issue of not being able to stay still or be quiet when I have to go.."
The robber looks at me and Aaron, debating if we are telling the truth about why I sounded so angry behind that desk.
The robber then throws me down to the ground next to Aaron.
"Next time I hear you speak, you will be getting a bullet through your damn head... YOU HEAR ME?!"
I nod my head yes and go back to where I was sitting and so does Aaron.
"You didn't have to defend me, you could have gotten yourself killed" I whisper to Aaron.
"I had to because if I didn't you would have looked stupid up there not knowing what to say, and end up getting us both killed".
I look at him a bit annoyed because I feel like he's right. Most of the time I don't like being proven wrong, especially when someone is blunt and rude about it.
Aaron then looks at the time, with relief. Why does he look happy right now? We are literally in the middle of a robbery?
"Put your head on my shoulder, Sam"
"What? No way, I don't even know you. Is this your weird way of trying to flirt with me or something?"
"Oh my god, you talk a lot huh? Just listen and trust me right now Sam."
I don't know why I decided to listen to this stranger. I put my head on his shoulder.
"Okay, what now Aaron? What the hell is the poi-"
I know this feeling... I feel lightheaded. Feels like everything is changing right now. The robbers' voices sound afar. I'm seeing colors and feel dizzy. This is what happened to me in my dream. So is this all really another messed-up dream... Well, a nightmare.?
Then out of nowhere... Everything goes quiet. Then I wake up in a dark void, with Aaron sitting far across from me.
