a whole new world

I love drawing paralels between the movies and I'm not slick about it either.

It was later in the evening and Kotoha decided to wear her dorm uniform to Scarabia. As she entered the dorm a familiar figure came into sight.
"Kabeen!"
"Who?!"
"You silly." Kotoha responded.
'I know she's bad at names, that may be why she got my name wrong.' Kalim thaught.
"Well anyway, come on! Dinner's done! And after dinner I'm giving you a tour!" He then took Kotoha's arm and dragged her off.

There was still some time before dinner starts and Kalim didn't want to start the tour. His reasoning was that 'the tour will be nicer after good food' Kotoha agreed. But currently Kalim and Kotoha were in the boys room.
"So you're from a whole other world?"
"I think? That's what the mirror said." She responded.
"Oh wow, that's cool!"
Suddenly there was a knock at the door.
"Come in!" Kalim yelled.
Jamil entered. "Come on, dinner's done."
"Yeah!" Kalim grabbed her arm again and drug her to the common room where multiple students sat.

Jamil was a great cook and Kotoha let that fact be known to him.
"Lagil! You're awesome!"
"It's Jamil. And thanks."
Now that Kotoha's paying attention she notices something, she's gonna talk to Jamil one on one after the tour.
"Kotoha!" Kalim said suddenly taking her attention.
"Yeah?" She asked tilting her head a little.
"It's tour time! Tour time!"
The two continued saying tour time as they walked away. Jamil let out a heavy sigh.

"And for the last part of our tour the Storeroom!" Kalim then opened the door showing the woman the mountains of gold and treasures.
"Storeroom?! Do you mean treasury?!"
"Yeah I guess it is like a treasury, but right now I'm looking for something. Not there, hmmm."
Kotoha felt something touch her leg and she yelped.

"Oh there you are!" Kalim let out.
Suddenly a carpet came out and flew circles around Kotoha only to go to Kalim shortly after.
"Kotoha! This is a legendary treasure from my home country- a magic carpet! Well this isn't the actual one This one's a replica, it's been in my family for generations." Kailm explained enthusiastically, the carpet nodded at you showing the same level of enthusiam.
"It's lovely
Kalim had a look on his face like he was thinking, suddenly he dragged you out of the room to a balcony. He hopped on the magic carpet and flew a circle around you.
"Kotoha do you wanna go for a ride?"
"Is it safe?"
"It's compleatly safe, do you trust me?" He looked at the girl with a bright smile holding his hand out for the girl to take.

The sun was almost set a feint glow coming from the fading sun, casting an ethereal light on the two. The boy held out his hand for the girl to take she gave him her hand and he pulled her onto his carpet, almost immediately the magic carpet flew off barely giving the girl time to get on. Kotoha fell onto Kalim as the carpet zoomed off into the distance. The young mother had eventually steadied herself holding onto her new friend to do so.
Kotoha looked around in wonder at the brand new sights as the carpet flew around the dorm to the windowseal of Kalim's room. On the window he had a few flowers growing, some that shouldn't be blossomed given the current conditions.

He picked a white orchid from the flowerbed and put it behind Kotoha's ear pushing her hair from her face. He smiled as they made eye contact, she touched the flower in her hair and smiled back at him touched by the gesture.

The carpet did a loop causing Kotoha to laugh, Kalim joined in. They flew high in the sky towards the clouds.
"Wow! It's- it's like! A dazzling place I never knew could exist!"
Kalim chuckled at Kotoha's enthusiasm.
"I know right! It's like a whole new world." Kalim responded to her wonder.
"Look at the sky it's like diamonds!"
The carpet decided to take a plunge Kotoha moved her hands to cover her eyes, but Kalim grabbed them before she could cover them so she could see the beautiful view.
"Hold your breath it gets better." He said softly then muttered the name of his unique magic and filled the emptpy oasis before she could see it empty. The carpet dove down towards the water allowing the two to graze their hands over the water as they flew.

The two continued laughing in joy as they came back to the dorm. Kalim and Kotoha saw Jamil standing there looking annoyed.
"Ooh Yareen it's Lajil!" Kalim laughed at the terrible mispronouncing of him and Jamil's names.
"It's Kalim and Jamil, we've told you numerous times. Why were you out so late, Vil is going to have my head because she isn't back by curfew."
"Yeah, Chill's a bit of a worry wart. But it is nice to have someone worry about me." Kotoha said to Jamil skiping over the why they were out so late part. But he was not going to let that slide, Jamil looked at Kalim.
"Kalim, why were you out so long?"
"Well, Jamil, I wanted to show her how pretty the desert is at night." Kamil explained, Jamil let out a heafty sigh.
"That is not- nevermind. Kalim, go to bed. I'll take Kotoha back to Pomefiore."

Kalim bent down a little and whispered something towards the magic carpet and it flew off. The boy smiled at Kotoha and pulled her in for a hug.
"Bye Kotoha! I'll see ya later!"
"Bye!" Jamil then grabbed her wrist and gentally pulled her away forcing what he knew would've been a long goodbye if he didn't. As they got further away from Kailm Kotoha realised that this was her chance. She had realised that he looked exausted, call it a mothers intuition.

Once when they were getting close to the mirror that's when Kotoha decided to confront him.
"Are you okay?"
"What?"
"Are you okay?"
"Why are you asking me that?"
"Call it a woman's intuition, but you seemed overly stressed."
"I'm fine." She did't believe that.
"I belive that was a lie. I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but I'm observant. Something's wrong, I won't press you for answers, but you can come to me if you need to talk." She looked at him with a reassuring smile.

It was a smile that he had wished he had seen more from his mother, but she was too busy taking care of the Asims. Too busy with work to reassure her son that no matter what happens that everything will be alright. And looking at Kotoha's smile made him believe that one day things will get better. To see such a caring smile doesn't happen often in a world full of jaded people that only care about themselves. Maybe she wasn't as bad as he thought she was, after all from what Kalim had told him about what happened at the meeting he knew that she's lived a rough life. Kotoha wasn't a rich, spoiled, brat like Kalim. She was a kind, caring, person that's too gulible for this school.

"Well, think about it. See ya!"
"Goodbye Kotoha." He had some things to reflect on and some plans to make.
Kotoha skipped to the Pomefiore mirror and when she entered the dorm she was met face to face with Vil in his night time get up.
"You are in trouble."

I hope you enjoyed, because I sure enjoyed writing the magic carpet ride.
