4:32pm Mid -July

I looked out the opened window to the blurred landscape, then stuck my arm out and looked at Steven. We were driving to the country club, but i had planned way ahead and we had thirty minutes to spare.

"Do you think we can stop by the beach?" i asked. he looked at me, "Uh, why not." he replied, and turned left. I smiled. I've had a crush on Steven for a while now, but every time i try to flirt with him he just takes it as a joke. Recently though, we've been having a lot more playful bantering, and it never ceases to make me happy. 

As Steven slowly pulled into the parking lot beside the beach I got out and got my emergency beach bag from the back. "Y/n! we only have 20 minutes, its not a beach day!" he called after me. "But i wanna go in the water!" i pouted. he smiled at me then waved me off as he got sunscreen and his hat. 

We played in the water for about 10 minutes until Steven tripped on a rock and fell.  I made fun of him for a bit then helped him up, causing him to kick water at me. We laughed for a few minutes in the water before getting out and wrapping ourselves in warm towels. 

I got dressed quickly, since all I had to do was put on shorts and a shirt over my bikini, steven changed and we headed back to the car. Before making it to our car, our hands rubbed together and I felt butterflies for a bit. He could never like me back.

We sat down and i put on one of my favorite songs and was surprised to find out Steven knew the lyrics as well, so we shouted them on our way back.

After the song ended, we both laughed for a bit, and I couldn't stop staring at him. Something about boys with wet hair, Belly was so right.  "Don't look at me like that, you know it drives me crazy." I froze. The words replayed in my head.  It drives me crazy. I looked back at him and tilted my head, he mirrored my movements. "Oh, how funny, the great Steven Conklin can't bear to be in a girl's gaze" I rolled my eyes playfully. "Oh, be quiet" he nudged my arm. 

I gave him the same look with a hint of tease. "I drive you crazy, huh?" He looked at me. "You have no idea." I cant keep my eyes off his face. "You know, your side profile is really pretty" i said. He turned to look at me, a corner of his mouth curving up into a smile. "You know, everything about you is really pretty" he replied. "AWWW! STEVEN, you're so cute." i said leaning my head closer to him. I didnt even notice my hand move closer to his. 

He noticed and held it. My hand fit so perfectly in his, I felt it was destiny for us to be there together. Me, him, in his car, holding hands, making out. I gently shook my head to snap out of my daydream. Calm down, y/n, you're not even dating yet. I blush at the thought. 

Steven looks at me. "You look adorable when you blush, you know." I scrunch my nose and smile at him. I couldn't possibly dream of being elsewhere than with my favorite person in the whole world. I would give everything to just stay here with him forever.
