8 months after the Death Cure

Brenda's POV

So much will change now that we are free of W.I.C.K.E.D. I am finally free to live the life I always wanted to live. I can settle down, and Thomas and I have been getting closer and closer to eachother, I think he might purpose to me soon. I know how that works, but I dont think Thomas does. Somehow I will have to tell him, maybe through Minho. Minho and Sonya have been taking it really slow compared to Thomas and I, it might take them another year to get married while it takes 5 more months for Thomas and I. I love Thomas, and I know he loves me.

Thomas's POV

I am free of W.I.C.K.E.D and now it's time to build up Paradise. Over the past few months I have become the Leader, as elected by Minho. The Builders have made a Town Square and about 30 more huts. I made my own hut with the help of one of the builders on the outskirts of Paradise and hopefully, Brenda can move in with me. Right now she lives with Jorge in his hut in the center of the town right next to the square. I love her.

*One day later*

"So are you gonna purpose to Brenda any time soon?" Minho asks.

"Whats that?" I ask as I sit down on the beach while watching the sun leave.

"Its where you get down on one knee at some special time and ask her to marry you. She just told me... just in case I need to know." He says the last part like he's lying.

"Speaking of that, how are you and Sonya doing?" I ask, trying to overlook how bad he is at lying.

"Good, very good." He says with a smile. We go back to our own huts and went to bed, but I stayed up thinking of what Minho said. Should I propose? Maybe in a week from today, I need a ring I guess, how am I gonna make a ring? When should I do it? At the beach, that's her favorite spot. That's why she told Minho, she just didn't want to look suspicious! "She really wants to spend the rest of her life with me?" I think out loud as I stare at the ceiling. I role over and go to bed as I dream of my mother telling me to do so after having a nightmare of W.IC.K.E.D. taking me.
