The day after, my brother Rafinha and I sat next to each other on my couch, each of us a glass filled with expensive red wine in our hands as we switched the channels again and again until I finally turned the television off.
First neither of us spoke; my thoughts were wandering to you but Rafinha seemed so bothered and sad that I decided to ask him what happened.
Rafinha Alcantara, usually one of the funniest and craziest people you could probably ever meet, sighs heavily and shifts on his spot as if he was uncomfortable and full of unease.
"It's because of Bella"
I had never heard of a girl named Bella before and I felt hurt as I realized that my brother who I am very close to, never told me about that special woman in his life.
"We never really were in a relationship, we just met often" he explained, running his slender fingers through his hair, "and yesterday my Bella ditched me, just like that. I had a connection to her the time I first saw her"
I was able to sense how horrible Rafinha felt because of the rejection so I pulled him into a brief bro hug and suggested a good game of Fifa 15 after to take his mind off of things.
But on this very evening, we both played as terrible as we had never done before; it was clear why my brother was distracted but I couldn't help but think of our weird relationship. You also just had come into my life and messed it up like a hurrican does cities and villages, we also weren't a serious thing but meeting quite often.
That's probably the point where I should have realized what a horrible and two-faced liar you were; how you, my personal drug, my personal toxic, were about to break me completely but I was oblivious to the obvious things Linda, and I regret it.
I regret every single second I had ever spent with you.
