Cold Treatment

After they talked, Tzuyu then left and Chaeyoung was alone again in her house. She can't sleep and thought about what Tzuyu said. It was already 4:00 AM and unable to get some sleep, so she decided to change her clothes and try running as an exercise. 

It's already been 15 minutes since she started running when her phone rings. When she look at the caller ID, she saw that it was Mina. She is contemplating whether to answer it or not but then decided to do the latter. She put back the phone in her pocket and continue running until she reached the park. There, she tried to calm herself, close her eyes, and do deep breathing. When she open it again, she saw a couple nearby. They are being lovey-dovey and don't care about anything around them. They are just there, eating some cup noodles and only have a bottle of water. Looking at the guy, it seems like he is just done with his work and just there to be with his wife/girlfriend. Chaeyoung then thinks about putting herself in the guy's situation. Even though he has nothing, his wife/girlfriend really loves him so much. They may lack financially but they are happy. 

She stood there for a couple of minutes staring at the young couple until she heard her phone ringing. She looks at the caller ID and then answers it.

"Hello". 

"Chaeyoungie, baby! Where are you? I'm here at your house", Mina said. Chaeyoung remembered what she saw last night, trying to find an excuse not to see her girlfriend. 

"Uhm, I-I'm going somewhere right now. Y-Yeah, going to H-Hokkaido. That's right. I'm going there since a producer like a song that I compose and he wants to see me personally. I left immediately upon hearing that and am currently on the bullet train right now. Sorry if I only told you today". 

"WHAT??! I'm going there as well", Mina said.

"NO!", Chaeyoung yelled. "Sorry. I mean no, no need to do that. I'll be back after. Just go to work and I'll call you when I arrive there, okay? My phone's battery is already low, I need to charge it. I'll call you back, okay?", she then hangs up the phone not waiting for Mina's answer. She also turns off the phone. 

She stays there for a couple of hours before going home. She peeks on the side of the street to make sure that there's no presence of her girlfriend there. When she is sure, she immediately goes up and gets inside her house. She then decided to take a one-week leave from her work, get a bag and go elsewhere. Since she mentioned that she is going to Hokkaido, she then decided to go there. 

Mina's POV:

I am wondering what is happening to my girlfriend. She is acting weirdly after we attended the event. I would like to spend time with her since the son of our major investor wasted my time yesterday. Actually, I don't like to be with him, it's just that he is the son of our business partner and we will be in trouble if I show me bitchy mode. I am really bored the whole time I am with him since I really miss my cub. Speaking of her, she didn't even text or call me yesterday up until today. I am quite annoyed by it since she is like my vitamin. I need to hear her voice to calm me and to get me energized. So I decided to go to her house but I didn't see her. I called her and she said that she is in Hokkaido since a producer wants to me her personally. I got excited so I told her that I will go there as well but was surprised to hear that she didn't want to. The weird part is she hang up the call and didn't even wait for my reply when she said that she will just call me. What the f*ck? 

So here I am, walking to my office while everyone is greeting me. I keep looking at my phone to see if she already send me a message or call me, but nothing. I started to get pissed and it is even evident in my cold and intimidating aura. My secretary welcomed me and informed me about my schedule for the day. I raise my hand to stop her. "Send someone to check if Son Chaeyoung go to Hokkaido today. Tell me the exact time that she left". My secretary obliged. 

After a few minutes, my secretary returned. "What is it?", I asked.

"Ms. Myoui, he confirmed that Ms. Son is indeed at the station going to Hokkaido today". 

"Sorry, she is still at the station?", Mina verify.

"Yes, Ms. Myoui. He even sends me a picture of her waiting for the bullet train. The schedule is 8:00 AM today". 

"Is there any schedule for  5:00 AM?", Mina continuously asked.

"Hmm, he also sends the picture of the schedule for the Hokkaido trip today Ms. Myoui. And per checking, it seems that the first trip will be at 8:00 AM". 

Mina slumps her shoulders. She can't believe that Chaeyoung lied to her. Why did you lie to me, baby? Is there something wrong?

"Ask that person to follow her. Report everything to me even the smallest details. You got it?", Mina sternly said.

'Yes, Ms. Myoui"

"Alright. You may go", Mina said before turning her swivel chair to face the window. She then pull out her phone and tried to call the younger but it is still switched off. 

Later that day, Mina attempted to call her baby and luckily it rings. She waited for the other line to answer the call but it went off. When she tried to call her again, it has been switched off. She then call her secretary and asked her about any updates to Chaeyoung. 

"Ms. Myoui, he said that Chaeyoung is still on the bullet train going to Hokkaido. She is expected to get there tomorrow early in the morning". 

"Alright. Just tell him to keep an eye on Chaeyoung and report everything to me. You can go home". 

"Thank you, Ms. Myoui", the secretary bows and leaves the room. 

Mina is already annoyed about the cold treatment that she is getting with her cub. She really doesn't know what happened to her. She has no idea of what's going on. Instead of getting tired thinking, she decided to focus on the papers that needs to be signed for the upcoming project. 

It's already late and Mina is still at the office. She is unaware of the time since she is busy with reading the papers. She is still reading when she hears her phone ring. When she looks at it, she sees the name of her cub. She immediately answers it. 

"Hello, baby!", Mina said.

"Hello, baby", Mina noticed a sad tone in her cub's voice. 

"Is there any problem, baby?", Mina can't help but ask. 

"No. It's nothing. I'm just tired of this long trip. I think I catch a cold", Chaeyoung reasoned.

"Did you bring the medicine with you? I am worried about you, Chaeng. I want to come with you", Mina insists. 

"No need, Mina. I'll be back before you know it". 

"Why you didn't want me to come with you? Are you hiding something from me?"

"No, Mina. I'm not hiding anything from you". 

"Are you sure?"

"Yes". 

"Alright. I believe you. When will you be back?"

"I filed a week of leave from work. I would like to explore this place since I rarely go here". 

"What?! Why it is so long?"

"Mina, It's just a week". 

"Why are you calling me by my name?"

"Huh?"

"Baby, you really acting weird. You act differently after we went to that event. Tell me. Is there something that happened that night that you can't tell me?"

"No. Nothing, baby". 

Then there's silence between the two. When Mina is about to speak, she then heard Chaeyoung. "It's already night, baby. I want to sleep. I call you back once I arrive, Bye", she then hung up the phone.

Mina is really furious since this is the second time that Chaeyoung hang up the phone. She wants to know what is happening to her girlfriend. She then makes a call. 

"Ready the private plane. We will be going to Hokkaido".
