"OUCH," I groan as I rub my back in pain, rolling onto my side as a whine escapes my lips. "What just happened?"
Looking above me, I realise the tower that the portal was in is now rubble. All that remains of this castle are eroded stones. "Time has not been kind to you my friend" I sigh, rubbing the stones sadly.
Standing to my feet I brush off my dress and begin my journey to Willow's village, he is lucky I like him because my journey is two times longer as a result. Stepping into the forest I pick up sticks, small stones and pieces of dried long grass forming them into arrows as I walk. Eventually, I come to a stop, remembering how long I have been away I feel as if nothing at all is familiar. Not letting it stop me I find an old-looking tree and climb to the top of it, my body reminding me that I have not stayed fit since I left either.
Finally reaching the top I lean on a thick branch before poking my head out above the leaves to find a larger tree blocking my view. Rolling my eyes with a groan I walk along the branch towards the tree beside it and luckily find another branch from my current tee that crosses over with the tree I need to be in. Smiling to myself in victory I make my way to the other tree before climbing to the top.
Once there I look above the leaves and feel the wind in my hair, the spring breeze making me feel a nostalgia I had not thought about til now. Remembering that I am on a mission I squint my eyes across the horizon in search of the river that will lead me to the Nelwyn village. Jumping down from branch to branch I see another branch in another close by tree that I can jump towards and swing on to reach the ground safely.
After successfully doing this, I continue in the direction of the river. I travel in this same direction for a few days before I reach the long grass on the outskirts of the Nelwyn village. However, I cannot help but notice that the long grass is not as long as I remember it used to be.
Nearing the gate of a young Nelwyn that lives on the edge of town I approach him. "Excuse me, I would like to speak to Willow".
The young man, or maybe even a teenager, takes a small step back as if I will not notice. "I'm sorry Miss" he replies. "But we don't really let strangers into the village".
I open my mouth to argue but before I manage to do so the voice of an older man yells from the house.
"Who are you talking to?"
The man approaches the gate as his son (presumably) answers, "This stranger wants to see someone named Willow, Pa".
The man peers down the pathway towards the gate and when he sees me, it is then that I also realise who he is. "Ebella?!"
"Meegosh!" I squeal.
Smiling brightly, he steps out from behind the gate before embracing me in a hug.
"You heard about Elora's Coronation?" he asks.
"Of course! That's why I'm here. Willow contacted me through magic and Lord Madmartigan and Lady Sorsha wrote to me".
"Wow isn't this amazing" he beams.
"It is" I smile back.
"Pa?" a small voice breaks our conversation.
We both look toward the young teenager in the garden as he looks at Meegosh.
"Oh Ebella, this is my son".
"It's lovely to meet you" I curtsey.
The young man blushes making Meegosh and I laugh.
"Who are you?" he somehow asks politely.
"WHO?" Meegosh almost yells. "She's the reason everything happened the way they did. She's the first and best Daikin I've ever met".
"Pretty short for a Daikini ain't she?"
Hitting his son over the head with a small stick in his hand I laugh lightly assuring Meegosh that it is fine.
Smiling I tell him, "About that".
"Did you find out where you came from?" he asks urgently.
"I did" I reply as we make our way towards the village.
Leading me through the village people stop and watch as I walk past, Meegosh holding my arm reassuringly.
As we approach a small house alongside rows of crops Meegosh yells out, "Willow!"
Almost immediately Willow walks through the door of the house.
"What is it Meegosh? You know I'm helping Kaiya prepare dinner" he groans.
"I found you a visitor" Meegosh smiles.
Looking behind his friend Willow locks eyes with me before letting out a scream.
"Ebella!"
We run to each other like children hugging each other tightly. "You came," he says happily.
"Of course, I came" I laugh. "You asked so nicely, how could I not?"
