Jasmine woke in a haze. She tried remembering what happened, and the last thing she remembered was Major coming on to her in the bathroom.
She smiled. He was cute, and so confident, maybe that's what attracted her to him. Or maybe it was his tattoos and long, neat dreadlocks. She thought about his deep dimples and perfectly straight teeth, and how she almost melted when he came up behind her. She felt a tingling in her stomach. She was turned on, and that made her think of Jay.
The only guy Jasmine ever slept with was Jay. She met Jay in high school when he moved from New York. He was so sweet and kind to her, treated her like a princess. But slowly he started changing, being more aggressive and agitated towards her. It was heart wrenching. She soon found out that he was on heroin and pain pills, but she never left his side.
Then something changed within their relationship. They started getting into heated arguments a lot, over the smallest things. Then one day when Jasmine threatened to leave Jay, he lost his cool and began to beat on her. And ever since then, especially when he was high, he would attack her for no reason.
A tear slowly streamed out of Jasmine's eye as she thought about the pain he'd brought into her life. She always felt as if she could have somewhat stopped it from getting this far, or eliminated his drug habit when it first began. She felt guilty as hell, it was her fault.
Just then, Major opened the bedroom door and Jasmine snapped out of her dazed thoughts. She hadn't even noticed where she was and when their eyes met she hurried and wiped her tear.
"You straight?" Major said as he sat on the bed.
"Yeah," Jasmine cleared her throat. "Where am I?"
"I brought you to my crib" he said smiling. Jasmine blushed at his cute dimples. Then her smile soon faded into a frown as she thought of Jay.
Major of course noticed the change, and was confused as hell. Sometimes he felt she was feeling him, and other times he just didn't even know. He knew something was going on, as to why she keep changing up.
"What is it, shawty?" Major said seriously. Jas looked into his eyes deeply and blinked slowly.
"What is...what?" She said confused.
"What is it that you thinkin' bout? Got you over here crying and shit, when a nigga tryin to make you smile, then you go back to being sad. And you still ain't told me what happened to yo eye. "
"It's nothing" she said brushing it off.
"Nah, cut that shit. It's definitely something." He moved a loose curl from her face. He wanted to see her eyes.
Jasmine smacked her lips and rolled her eyes, dismissing his statement. But then she looked down, and Major recognized that look of misery.
"Did yo nigga hit you?" He said with a straight face.
She shook her head no, but a tear unwillingly fell from her eyes and she quickly wiped it away. "It's nothing"
Anger built up inside Major, he hated to see a man put his hands on a woman. Due to the fact that his father beat on his mother, and ultimately killed her, he didn't want to see this poor beautiful girl going through that same pain and misery he witnessed his mother endure. And it was then Major made up his mind, he'd never let a nigga touch her ever again.
"C'mere" he pulled her into a tight hug where her silent tears turned into loud sobs. "You ain't got to worry bout shit no more. I got'chu"
She sat up and looked at him with her cloudy gray eyes. "But you don't even know me. Why would you even care what happens?" She said in-between sobs.
"Cause don't nobody deserve that shit, man. You're too beautiful for a nigga to hurt you like that. I'll never do that shit ma." He hugged her again.
Usually Major was the type to fuck hoes and keep it pushing. But this Jasmine chick had his nose wide open. And her situation made him want to protect her. She was too much of a keeper for someone to disrespect her. And he would make sure no one ever disrespected her again. From this day forward she was his, whether she knew it or not.

Jasmine and Dej'Hanni sat at the kitchen table, neither were eating anything, just sitting there."What the fuck you keep giggling over there for ?" Jas said joking with her little sister.
"The same reason you keep cheesing every time ya phone buzz. Don't play." Dej'Hanni laughed.
It's true. Jasmine was texting Major. It had been a few weeks since she'd woke up in his house. After sharing a moment with him, they exchanged numbers. They talked on the phone all night and texted all day. She felt like she was a teenager again, the way he gave her butterflies in her stomach. They hadn't seen each other again but they planned to chill at Jas's apartment today. And she was excited.
"Whatever. It's almost 5, and he'll be here in a minute so you need to disappear." Jasmine said half way serious.
"Can I go stay the night with Dee Jay? Pleaseeeeeeee.." Dej'Hanni begged.
Jas thought about it for a minute. Her little sister wasn't a baby anymore, she was grown as hell. Knowing that She was on birth control now made it easier to say ok. But she knew that if she said no, Dej'Hanni would probably do it anyways so she said yes and almost five minutes later Dej'Hanni was running out to Dee Jay's car. She didn't even pack a bag.
That was strange to Jas, for some reason. But then a text from Major quickly distorted her thoughts.
Be there in 10
-MajJas jumped up excitedly. She was headed down the hall to her bedroom when there was a knock on the door.
He must be early, Jasmine thought and she went to open the door. She smiled really hard, and slowly opened the door but to her surprise...Major wasn't standing there.
She stood horrified as she'd seen those cold empty eyes that haunted her day by day.
"What's good, baby?" Jay spat harshly.
His eyes were bloodshot red and his veins bulging from his neck as if his body was in restraint.
He was high...obviously.
"What are you doing here?" Jasmine spoke softly as her body filled with fear.
Jay brushed past her roughly. "What? A nigga can't come see his bitch no more?" He said in a wickedly amused way.
Jasmine stood at the door, glancing over her should at the roads outside. She secretly wished that major would pull up any second now, and make this psycho go away. After a few seconds, she exhaled and turned her gaze to her feet while tears threatened to fall.
"Close the fucking door!" He yelled.
Jasmine looked behind her one more time. She knew he was coming, she just had to stall for time.
"Actually I was just about to go for a walk." She glanced over her shoulder once again. "Do you wanna come babe ?" She said sweetly trying to disguise the fear swept in her chest.
Jay walked toward her eyeing her in a threatening way. He shoved her aside and slammed the door shut. He then leaned up against the door and looked at her up and down with this disgustingly sexual intent in his eye.
Jasmine's eyes got wider. She knew this look. When ever Jay would give her this look it meant he was about to rape her. It's happened so many times that this same look haunted her dreams.
She could no longer hold back the tears."Why do you want to do this to me?" She screamed. "Why me, when all I've ever done was love you?"
Jay snickered at her frantic composure. He rushed at her all at once gripping her throat. She couldn't breathe. Then she felt his hand ripping off her pants and she tried fighting back. But then the room got darker. Her finger tips were ice cold and her consciousness was fading. She felt the pain of him entering her body. Hard and spiteful. She was hopeless. There was no way to fight against this man.
He would most definitely be the death of her, she thought to herself.
