It was already ten in the morning when Porchay got back to the mansion. For a vampire like him, it was already late and he should be sleeping right now. But Porchay is not sleepy at all; rather, he felt like he could stay up all morning. It was all thanks to the sudden rush of adrenaline due to excitement.

"You're late."

Porchay was about to enter his room when suddenly his brother Kinn appeared out of nowhere. He was actually waiting for him to come home; like a parent all worried for his child.

"I had some errands to do." Porchay answered shortly to his brother. "Did you just wait for me?" he asked skeptically because Kinn usually sleeps in the morning without waiting for Porchay to come home.

"Yeah." Then Kinn sighed which made Porchay wonder.

"Is something wrong Phi?"

Then suddenly, they are already inside Kinn's office.

"I really hate it when you do that." Porchay complained while massaging his temple, giving Kinn the side-eye he deserves.

"I'm sorry Nong. You know my office is the only soundproof room in this mansion."

Yes. Vampires' senses are actually a hundred times stronger than of an ordinary human. And they need to talk about something in private; something that involves Porchay.

"So, what is it Phi?" Porchay asked his brother again as he sat down the couch in Kinn's vintage style office.

His brother likes to collect things. Kinn always have something in his office that represents every era or decade. And the number of things he collected clearly shows that he had already lived a long life as a vampire. That means, Kinn had already experienced almost everything life can offer to him.

And for him, it was not something you should look forward to.

"You're turning 500 next week Nong."

Ah, Porchay already knew where this conversation would be going. And he cannot blame his brother to worry a lot for him. Kinn has already seen many of his friends perish and he wasn't able to do anything as their head that got him questioning his own ability to lead them.

"You're worried about me?"

"Chay."

"I know Phi. And I'm doing my very best." Porchay reassured his brother.

"And I hope that crazy idea is already out of your head." Kinn said to Porchay with arms crossed in his chest but the younger vampire only answered him with a contented smile.

Oh if Kinn only knew what really happened he would be shocked.

"Why are you smiling like that?" Kinn accusingly asked Porchay and the younger one just shrugged his shoulders. "Nong?"

"What?"

Kinn stared at him intensely, like he was examining his brother; like he wanted to squeeze something out of him; to make Porchay spill something. And Kinn knows very well if his little brother is keeping something from him. Porchay doesn't know it but Kinn can very well sense it if there's something wrong; like Kinn was linked to Porchay.

"Aren't you sleepy?" Kinn asked as he yawned and stretched his arms. He then walked towards the large window in his office.

"I don't know Phi. I don't feel sleepy yet."

But normally, Porchay sleeps very early. He's the kind of vampire that doesn't stay up late in the morning. That is given because when it comes to vampire age, he is still young and growing; not to mention, he still very curious of the world.

"Really? But you're not a fan of mornings and your body automatically shuts down like a computer when daylight breaks."

Kinn continued but he already has a hunch on what is happening with his little brother. Actually, he already felt something has changed in him and that thing was something Kinn felt a long time ago; long before he became their leader.

"Maybe it's the effect of being able to work again." Porchay said without looking at his brother.

But Porchay's attention was caught by his brother when suddenly Kinn pulled to the side the curtains, letting the rays of the sun enter the office and directly hitting Porchay. And he was so shocked that he jumped out of the couch on reflex; finding a place inside the office where sunlight cannot reach.

Porchay, surprised and somewhat nervous because of his brother's actions, flashed his fangs before Kinn; something a vampire wouldn't do to their leader because it clearly depicts treason to the group. He then felt anger rise up his head because why the hell Kinn would do that? He knows better than anyone else that he still can't stand being under the daylight. He could probably burn by it if there is a prolonged contact.

"What are you doing Phi?!" he shouted at his brother; his golden eyes glowing with anger.

"What are you doing, Porchay?" Kinn retorted. "Don't hide in there. Come back here in the sun."

"You know I will burn if I do that." Porchay answered; still getting confused of what Kinn wants him to do.

"Don't make me use my powers on you Porchay." And Kinn calling him by his name makes Porchay shiver with fear.

"But I will burn!" Porchay screamed like he was almost crying.

"You won't." Kinn declared as he inhaled through his gritted teeth and exhaled loudly by his nose.

One thing that Porchay is definitely sure of is that Kinn would not probably put him in any danger. He's sure that his brother has his reasons why he is telling him to go under the sun.

"Phi, I'm not an immortal one like you. I will definitely burn under the sun and that will take me months to recover again."

Kinn knows what Porchay means. Because of his stubbornness, he almost perished when he was still a new vampire. He doesn't believe what Kinn said to him that he must not go under the sun but did anyways. The result, Porchay was almost burnt to perish when he was still a one-year old vampire and it took him months to recover.

"You already are."

"What?"

"You already are Porchay."

Porchay met his brother's gaze with knitted eyebrows; clearly portraying a 'what-the-hell-are-you-talking-about?' look. And it made Kinn sigh again; shaking his head in disbelief.

He walked towards his brother with hands on his waist; like a father that is going to scold his child. But instead, he grabbed Porchay's wrist, pulled him hard enough to make Porchay stumble on his feet and threw him under the sunlight.

"Phi!"

But Porchay felt nothing. He doesn't feel any burning sensation in his skin; let alone sensitivity of the eyes to the light.

"What the hell?"
