"Hey, Lou?" Niall stands in front of Louis, car keys and cellphone in hand. Louis looks up from laptop and gives his attention to Niall. "Me and Liam are going to a friend's house. Is that alright?" he asks, giving Louis his best puppy dog eyes.
Louis glances at Niall wearily. He knows the boy is sixteen now, and he can take care of himself, but he still worries about him.
"Sure," Louis says. Before Niall can celebrate, he speaks up again. "No alcohol, no sex, and call me if you need anything. Oh and be back by ten."
"Ten? Really?" Niall complains, but quickly shuts his mouth when he sees the serious look on Louis' face. He doesn't dare argue with that. "Alright, ten it is."
Niall heads towards the door before Louis stops him. "Niall." Niall looks at Louis. "Have a good time. I love you."
Niall laughs at how sappy Louis is. "I will," he says. He opens the front door to see Liam waiting outside. He begins walking out the door before he stops and turns, giving Louis a genuine smile.
"Love you too, Dad."
Niall runs out the door, not wanting to be the reason he and Liam show up late. Zayn comes into the room, just in time to see Niall leave. "Where's he off too?"
Louis gives Zayn and peck on the lips. "A friends. Don't worry, I already gave him the speak and made sure he'd be back by ten," Louis tells his husband.
"He's growing up so fast," Zayn says, tearing up a little despite himself. He takes a seat next to Louis and wraps his arms around him. "You're such a a good dad."
"So are you." Louis gives Zayn another kiss. "The best."
