As Ike headed towards his house with Vox in the passenger seat, he couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. For one, this was his first real chance to talk to Vox in a more relaxed setting. And for another, it was a huge step in their forced proximity experiment.

As they pulled up outside of his house, Ike turned to Vox and said, "Well, here we are. My humble abode."

Vox looked around curiously, as if sizing up the place. "It's certainly...cozy," he said, his voice tinged with humor.

Ike couldn't help but smile at that. "Yeah, it's not much, but it's mine," he said, as he opened the door and stepped out of the car.

Vox followed him, looking around at the small house with a bit of curiosity. "It's not exactly the luxury you're used to," Ike said, gesturing towards the small living room with a sofa and a TV.

Vox chuckled. "That's true. But at least it's something to keep me busy while we figure out this experiment."

Ike nodded, leading the way into the kitchen. "So, do you want anything to drink? I've got water, soda, and beer," he said, pointing to the refrigerator.

Vox smiled. "Beer, please. And do you have any chips or snacks?"

Ike nodded, pulling out two beers and rummaging around for some snacks. "Here you go," he said, passing the beer and the snacks to Vox.

Vox took the supplies, opening the beer and popping the top off. "Thanks, Ike," he said, taking a sip before leaning back on the sofa.

Ike took a seat next to him, feeling a rush of nerves at being alone with Vox. "So, how are you feeling about this whole case?" he asked, his voice soft.

Vox took another sip of his beer before responding. "I'm not exactly thrilled about being with a detective, but I'm curious to see how this turns out," he said, his voice equally soft.

Ike nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. "Yeah, same here. I just hope we can get through this without too much trouble. The real killer needs to be brought to justice," he said, his voice filled with a certain amount of nervousness.

As the conversation flowed, it became clearer that Vox was not as bad as Ike had originally thought. He was charming and had a certain way about him that made it hard not to like him. He had a certain confidence and wit that was appealing to Ike. While his flirtatious nature and slightly arrogant attitude could sometimes be annoying, Ike found himself drawn to him nonetheless.

With the beer helping to loosen up the tension, Vox and Ike started talking about things that were closer to their hearts. They talked about their dreams and aspirations, their fears and doubts, and even a bit about their past experiences. As they talked, it became clear that they had more in common than meets the eye and it felt like they were really connecting with each other.

As the conversation wound down and they began to finish their beer, Vox looked at Ike with a hint of sadness in his eyes.

"You know, Ike, this is the first time I've been able to really connect with someone in a long time," he said, his voice almost a whisper.

Ike couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and excitement at hearing those words. He had known deep down that there was something special here and it felt like this moment had just confirmed it.

"I know what you mean, Vox," Ike said, his voice soft and compassionate. "And I'm glad that it could be with me."

The two of them sat in silence for a few moments, lost in their own thoughts, and Ike felt a warm feeling inside him. He had a feeling that this forced proximity experiment was going to be more than just an experiment. It was going to be a journey, full of unexpected twists and turns, and full of new experiences, new memories, and new connections. And he was excited to see where it would take him.
