There were side effects, but they were drastic. At the age of 18, people stopped aging but not because they wanted to. Sad to say people older than that were killed off. The young stayed young for several years not understanding until an 18-year-old genius learned the secret to growing old. He immediately shared his discovery with the world. The secret to growing old was to find your soul mate.
At first, no one was completely sure how to respond to this new discovery. The couples who had gotten married and were living together for years, 4 years to be exact, became scared. As the world eased into the new discovery, the genius found his soul mate. She was loyal, at least that is what he thought. A few months later she was found dead, no one could figure out her death and how it happened. The genius was devastated.
