The clock struck 7 pm, and Alisha's anticipation grew as she put the finishing touches on the surprise she had planned for Samantha. The delicious aroma of her favorite dishes filled the air, and the room was adorned with flickering candles, creating an intimate and cozy atmosphere.

Alisha had come home early from work, determined to make this anniversary celebration unforgettable for Samantha. As she stood in the kitchen, she couldn't help but feel the warmth of love enveloping her heart. This day was meant to be filled with joy and cherished memories.

However, as the minutes passed, Alisha's excitement started to wane. The absence of Samantha began to weigh on her, and a tinge of disappointment seeped into her heart. She knew Samantha's job as a dentist could be demanding, but she had hoped that Samantha would make it on time, especially after their conversation yesterday.

At around 7 pm, just as Alisha was about to call Samantha, her phone rang. It was Samantha, and a knot of frustration tightened in Alisha's stomach.

"Hey, I'm really sorry, but I won't be able to make it on time," Samantha's voice sounded apologetic. "There are so many patients, and I can't leave until they're all taken care of."

Alisha tried to hide her disappointment, but she couldn't help but feel upset. "It's okay, Sam. I understand your job is important, but we had plans," she replied, her voice tinged with sadness.

"I know, and I'm really sorry," Samantha said sincerely. "I promise I'll make it up to you. Can we reschedule our celebration for tomorrow?"

Alisha took a deep breath, trying to find understanding in her heart. "Alright, but I hope you'll find a better balance between work and our personal life."

Samantha's voice softened. "You're right, Alisha. I don't want you to feel neglected or upset because of my work. I promise to do better."

They said their goodbyes, and Alisha ended the call, feeling a mix of emotions. She knew Samantha didn't mean to disappoint her, but the frustration still lingered.

In an attempt to distract herself, Alisha started looking through their wedding album. Each photo captured moments of love and joy, and it brought a bittersweet smile to her lips. The memories of their journey together were a testament to the love they shared.

As she flipped through the pages, exhaustion from the day's emotions overcame her, and Alisha eventually dozed off on the couch, clutching the album close to her heart.

In her dreams, the memories of their love story intertwined, and she knew that no matter the challenges they faced, their love was strong enough to weather any storm.
