Theseus stared at Katano and scoffed. "How intriguing, Katano... You call me a monster and a disgrace to the gods, yet you yourself have dropped to my level... Killing humans... torturing them... turning them into creatures that weren't even supposed to exist... foolish foolish..."

Alex opened his eyes and blinked a few times as he slowly woke up from his dream. Damnit... I need to stop reading those mythology books... Slipping his legs out of bed, his body slowly slid to the floor with a thud and he groaned quietly as he rested his arm over his eyes not wanting to awaken this moment. Sadly, there was adulting that needed to be done. With a louder groan than the last, Alex stood up and dragged his feet through his morning routine and even had to skip breakfast as he has both slept in and was sluggish while getting ready. Grabbing his keys, he left his apartment and locked the door. Looking to his phone, he scanned the list of things he has to do on his free day and sighed. Now leaving the comfort of the apartment complex with as much enthusiasm as someone getting a shot.

The hours seemed to pass by slowly with each task being more daunting than the last. Eventually, the couch was calling and Alex happily dropped onto it now that all of his errands were done. The groceries he picked up can wait. He laid there for a solid hour before he rolled off the couch and sat up to work on the groceries. Just as he finished putting away the fruits of his labor, there was a knocking on the door and he hurried to it expecting one of his friends to surprise him but he was met with a bouquet of lilies. Lilies? Who knew my favorite flower was lilies?  Tilting his head slightly, he picked up the bouquet and brought it inside. The strangest part of this is the lack of note. "Who am I supposed to thank if there's no note?"

With a growl under his breath, he placed the bouquet in a vase... or what could be considered a vase to someone who couldn't afford it. It was just a plastic water bottle that was tall enough for it. Again, there was another knock but no one was there... once again. This time, however, there was a note. Reading it, it was actually both endearing and funny.

"I apologize for leaving these flowers on your doorstep but I just knew that you would love them since they were fresh grown in my garden. -K

PS- This note fell off the flowers. I'm sorry if you were weirded out by the random flowers but I'm glad you took them in without question. They could've been drugged after all <3"

The last part was a bit weird but it would make sense especially if it came from his friend, Kandace. She would write something like that and she did know his favorite flower. Except she didn't have a garden... "Well, it's too late to really think about it... Bedtime!"

Excited to return to his cozy paradise, Alex ran to his room and quickly went about his night routine before jumping into bed and quickly falling asleep.

Later into the night, Alex woke up with a startle and quickly sat up looking around with an unsettling feeling. Except nothing was there... With a sigh, he stood up to get a drink and came back into his room with a cup of milk. Though his swaying curtains caught his interest. "Shit... I must've left my window open again. Someone is going to break in at this rate..."

With a sigh, he closed the window and locked it before returning to bed with his milk happily. As soon as he finished the drink, he laid back down but he couldn't fall asleep. It must be another practically sleepless night tonight... Running a hand through his untamed brown hair, Alex sat up and decided to busy himself with chores, so that's what he did. The quiet chores of course so he didn't bother his neighbors. But that same feeling he got when he woke up kept returning even when he turned all the lights on so he pushed it off as him being paranoid. It wasn't an uncommon thing for him to be paranoid. In fact, he takes medicine for it. I'll have to talk to the doctor about that next month at my appointment... I must need to up my dose.

After a few hours, the apartment was practically spotless and the feeling he had finally disappeared. If I sleep now, I can have a couple more hours of rest before work... Willing to take that risk, Alex returned to bed after turning off all the lights and easily fell asleep. As soon as he woke up, he slipped out of bed going about his normal routine before heading back off to work.
