Unexpected - Chapter Three - You Know
"Here you go." Aurora said, handing me a chocolate dipped cone.
"Aw, thanks. How'd you know?" I laughed.
"You are my best friend, you know? I know a lot about you." She smirked.
Johnson sat down beside me with the same thing in his hand. I smiled.
"Twins!" He giggled like a small child.
I laughed and took bite of my ice cream.
"So, where are you two from?" Gilinsky asked.
"I'm orginally from the UK but I moved to Cali when I was little." I smiled.
"I told you she was British!" Johnson laughed, eyeing Gilinsky.
"Yep." I laughed.
"I'm just from California. Nothing special." Aurora shrugged.
"You're special." I reached across the table and punched her cheeks. She swatted my hand away and laughed.
"Got any special talents?" Johnson asked us.
"OH, SHE CAN SING!" Aurora yelled, pointing at me.
My cheeks felt hot and I put my head down.
"Cannot." I mumbled.
"Oh, yes she can. She's amazing." Aurora argued.
"Nope." I shook my head.
"Oh come on." Johnson poked my side. "Sing for us."
"Later." I mumbled.
He shrugged and continued to eat his ice cream. Gilinsky and Aurora became engaged in a conversation again. I studied Johnson's face as he stared at them.
He noticed me staring and my ears turned to fire.
"What?" He laughed.
"Nothing. Just studying your face. It's kind of cute." I smiled, licking my dripping ice cream.
"So is yours." He smiled back.
I felt happy around him, like he was my best friend or something. He was so easy to talk to and listened so well.
Aurora had a hard time listening, she was too hyper and energetic. Although I loved her like my sister, she did get annoying sometimes.
"Hey, are you done?" Johnson asked.
I nodded and stood up, throwing my trash into the nearest garbage can. I felt a hand connect with mine and I smiled, once again.
"Where to now?" Aurora said, standing up to throw her trash away.
"There isn't really much to do here." I frowned.
"Hey," Aurora smirked. "You're holding hands."
She grabbed her phone and snapped a picture. She showed me it, and I loved it. She had her flash on, making the picture darker. Our hands were brighter than the rest of the picture, the background was darker.
"Send me that." Johnson said.
"Me too." I smiled.
My phone dinged and I unlocked it.
"2355." Johnson laughed.
"What?" I asked, confused.
"Your password. It spells Bell." He winked.
