Ticket of Love

"Oh my gosh. Ang tagal na nating hindi nagkita ah. Namiss mo ba ako?"

Nag-alingawngaw boses ni Kit. Me and Kit met when we were little kids. It was in third grade when I met her. She was crying sa corner ng canteen while eating kaya ang dugyot tignan. I went up to her and started to comfort her. Ever since then, she never left my side. Until now we're graduating in college, she's been here with me.

"Ang O.A ah! Kakikita lang natin kahapon sa 7/11." We're at BGC to meet up. School's starting soon and we wanted to enjoy more of it. Lumuwas ng probinsya sila tito and tita kaya I had the time to gala and not stay at home with them.

"Do you want to go to Tagaytay after this? Gusto ko pumunta sa Sky Ranch." Kit asked while fixing her stuff. I just shrugged my shoulders. Sinampal ba naman braso ko at nagpumilit. "Huhu sige na please. Actually excuse ko lang yung BGC. May date kami ng jowa ko sa Tagaytay pero alam mo naman ang parents ko. They're really strict and they only know about you and Yssei. So please."

"The fuck? Gagawin mo pa akong third wheel! No thank you." So that's why her smile looked weird yesterday! She used me for her landi. Me and Yssei were the only ones who knew about her secret girlfriend. She wasn't out to anyone except us. I pitied her sometimes, seeing that she had to hide her relationship, afraid of people's reactions, especially her family's.

"Fine, I'll help you go on your date. Basta you pay my gas! Wala na akong pera huy." She hugged me tightly and jumped. Nahahatak pa ako sa likot nitong gagang to. "Also call Yssei para may kasama ako. I haven't seen her for a while now. It'll be fun to have her company too." Yssei, our other friend, studied in a different university making it hard for us three to meet up frequently. Out of us three, she was the most strict and responsible. We met her in high school, 7th grade. She was a transferee and needed help with directions when I noticed she was in the same class as mine. Eventually, I introduced her to Kit and since then, the three of us became friends.

"I did call her about it, and guess what. She's coming! Kaya we're gonna pick her up first sa may Mcdo."

We went to my car and drove papuntang Mcdo muna to kuha Yssei. I missed her so much! Huli naming kita was last April pa, her birthday. She was too busy with her studies kaya she never had the time to make a free schedule para gumala kami. Nakita namin agad siya and Kit waved at her when I opened the window.

"YSSEI!"

She glanced at us when she heard Kit's voice and smiled. She looked really pretty and blooming in her yellow floral dress. But I feel like there's something more behind that. Hindi naman sa pagmamayabang or what, but my intuition's usually right. I opened the door to let her in my backseat.

"Fuck! namiss ko kayo, mga burikat ko." Hindi na ako nagulat na 'yun ang unang-una na sinabi niya. Despite being calm and collective, her craziness and kagaguhan shows up when she's with us. I'd say she's one of the best examples ng don't judge by their appearance. Kidding.

"Sino ba kasi ang laging busy mag-aral at naubusan na ng time gumala?" Instead of replying to my question, she just hid her face trying to stop smiling. Me and Kit noticed that and namumula na rin siya. Para bang may ilaw na bumukas sa utak namin at sabay kaming lumingon sa babaeng nasa likod namin. Ang taas taas ng standards niya! Someone actually fit it?
