A/N: Jaiden's last QSMP stream was wild man, and then she won't be streaming for a bit tooooo
On an actually important note, book updates may be very very slow, been having lots of motivation issues ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Also, forgot to mention this. The eggs can talk like normal people in this fic. But Cucurucho still talks mostly through recorded voicelines and books for.. reasons.
ALSO BRO EVERY DAY I LOOKED AT THIS BOOK AND IT WAS GETTING MORE READS IT WAS ORIGINALLY ONLY LIKE 30 READS WHERE ARE YOU GUYS COMING FROM???➴
Jaiden was soon enough left alone by Cucurucho. After all, the bear was always quite busy with something. Sure, when they could, they seemed to take the chance to interact with Jaiden. However, they was only so much one could do. They had many other matters to worry about, especially with the other residents of the aisle constantly attempting to get one over the Federation. So, Jaiden was told their classic, "I hope you enjoy the island." Then, Cucurucho had walked off and disappeared in order to tend to other businesses.
Soon enough, Jaiden was alone once more. Though, she supposed she'd gotten used to this by now. Isolation was what she knew for most of the time. Ever since, well, the incident.. Jaiden hasn't had the same amount of energy to talk to people anymore. She was okay with being left to tend to her house in Bobby Fields. When she was alone here, there was nothing to remind her of the absence of what she had loved most in her life. There was no one to bring up the pain of his death. Granted, she's been interacting with people a bit more. She's had her fun here and there.. Everyone on the server is very lovely, for the most part. But she hasn't ever felt as lively as she had before Bobby's passing. That left its scars.
...
Her eyes glanced around, met only by the swirling colors of red and green. As far as the eye could see, bushes of roses. Fields of it. Bobby's fields. It was always a calming sight for her, and yet.. right now, there was a slow and trickling feeling. It crawled up her spine, and began to swirl in her stomach. It was a strange feeling. A bad feeling. She hadn't felt something like this much before. It a sinking, creeping feeling that lingered in the shadows. Subtle enough to barely be noticed, but easy to overlook if you weren't paying attention to it.
Jaiden couldn't describe the feeling. It was.. unnatural. That's as much as she could say. Something unnatural. Something she hasn't felt before. Truly. She's had bad feelings before. She's been watched, followed, and startled by others. Cucurucho, sometimes even other members. She's been scared before. Yet deep down, there had been some sense of assurance knowing these figures. There was some sort of recognition.
..but she didn't get that feeling here. No. This was something foreign. Something that didn't belong here. Even the air had grown uncomfortably cold. Colder than what was standard of this biome.
It was quiet, too.
She didn't hear anything. Not a single mob. No small critter. Tortoises, raccoons, there were quite a number of animals that spawned around here. She didn't hear or even see any of those creatures nearby. That alone gave a strange, desolate feeling. It was so... off. Yet when she looked around, there was no sign of anything else. Maybe there could be a wolf, or bear, or some other kind of apex predator lingering about that had scared off most of the animals around her house. However, she didn't see anything of that sort.Jaiden decided to leave Bobby Fields. At least, for a moment. She had no idea what was going on with that strange sinking feeling, but she figured it probably wasn't the best idea to go out alone looking for something that might just be a bit of paranoia. Instead, she walked over to her waystone, brushing aside some overgrown rosebushes whose thorns managed to graze against her clothes. Perhaps she'd have to do a little trimming soon. She didn't like touching the roses because she was mostly content with letting them be.. but they'd grow onto her dirt paths and other structures she'd set when left unattended to.
