Chapter 4

Brindle, Jake, and I are all laying on the couch watching cupcake wars. It was late and my dad wasn't home. I suddenly felt this bump. It was like my heart skipped. He looke at me and said " you ok?" I'm really confused on what just happened. I ran up to my room. Something was changing about me. I felt tht I had to do something. Something risky.

I definitely was different. I came to school like I totally went goth. "What the hell happened to you?!" Yelled my friend Mia. I just kept walking. My hair was died black and my whole outfit was black. I got weird looks from everyone. Jake was really worried about me because he said "are you ok," I must've been really mad because I replied with "just stay out of my way,". I can't believe what happened to me. I'm going to be losing friends instantly. I sat at the back of the class. Waiting for the day to end. I took three tests. But I was thinking of what happened last night. I swear it was like a shock in my heart. When school got out, I ran to my secret place which was a creek. Named after my mother. I looked into the water. I started to cry when I saw my reflection. Then Jake appeared. " this is not who I'm supposed to be!" I cried. He pulled me close and I laid my head on his shoulder. He kissed my forehead and left. I again looked at my reflection. I remembered the time when I was here 9 years ago. It was the day my mom died. I wish I was still the 6 year old girl I remember. Then I would have my mom and she could help me with my life. My frickin messed up life.

I woke up on what felt like wood. Crap! I fell asleep on the bridge last night. I got up and ran. I needed to go home. But I tripped on something. I looked back to see what it was. It was my mothers box. She always kept things in it. I took it with me.
