Chapter 1

/-/-/-/-/-\

It was pouring rain on a thursday afternoon. I was watching the rain drops flow down the window as Mr. Hanes talk amongst the class. I kept feeling as if someone was watching me, but when I looked back, no one.

I slithered out of my chair and made my way to the pencil sharpener. I quietly sharpened it. When I took the pencil out, it slit my pointer finger. I quietly winced in pain and sat back in my seat.

After class, I rushed to the bathroom and washed out my cut. "Are you ok?" My friend Rachel asked, turning on the sink next to me. "Uh yeah...just a cut." I replied.

"Damn, what cut you so deep?"

"My pencil."

I switched off the sink and headed out to go home. As I left school grounds, I noticed Louis. He was leaning against a tree, staring at me. I shook my thoughts and continued my walking.

I heard foot steps behind me, they were getting closer and closer. My heart was pounding and I sped up my walking.

I tripped over a crack in the side walk and my body hit the cement.

"Uh...Jaycie, why are you running from me?" A familiar voice asks. I turn my head, still laying on the ground. My best guy friend Jake was standing there. "Sorry, just a little freaked out." I answered, slowly stand up.

"Oh, well come on, walk home with me." We laced fingers and walked back to my house.

-

"Mom I'm home!" I yelled, closing the front door. My mom was in the kitchen, making dinner.

"Hey honey, and Jake." She said, smiling. "Hey." We both sang. "Dinner will be ready in 10." I nodded and Jake and I went up to my room, closing the door.

"So, Jaycie." Jake started. "I have to ask you something." I looked up at his blue marble eyes and nodded. He scratched back of his head and cleared his throat. "I really, really like you and...I was sorta wondering if you'd like to be my girlfriend?" My whole body bursted with butterflies and my dace formed a huge smile.

"So is that a yes or-" I smashed my lips on his. He deepened the kiss and I let him in. We finally released and he smirked. "Does that answer your question?" He nodded and bit his bottom lip. I let him in for a hug and we stayed that way for a while.

"Dinner is rea...am I interrupting something?" My mom asks, pushing her dark hair behind her ear. We both shook our heads and quickly un link bodies. "Nope mom, you weren't." I replied, standing there awkwardly. She smiled. "Ok, well dinner is ready. Would you like to join us Jake?"

"Thanks for the offer, but I should really be getting home." My mom nodded and she headed down stairs. I turned to face Jake, giving him a look. "What?" He snapped. "Oh nothing, see you tomorrow?"

"Yeah." We both hugged one last time and kissed once more. His hand ran down my leg and I stopped him. "No, not right now." He groaned and pouted. "When then?" He asked. I shrugged and smiled.

"Soon, I swear."

"Ok, see you later." He headed out of my room and I followed behind him. He gave his goodbyes and I sat down at the table, joining me mom. She passed me the food and began eating.

"So, you and Jake are more than just friends?" She asked, sipping her water. I nearly choked in my potatoes, setting down my fork.

"Uh...no, just friends." I replied. She rolled her eyes and groaned. "Whatever Jaycie, I see the way you two look at each other, and why were you guys hugging in your bedroom?"

I rolled my eyes and continued eating my food. We stayed quiet for the rest of the time.

"Need help with dishes mom?" I asked. She shook her head while scrubbing off the plates. I decided to go out for a night walk, I had a lot on my mind. I quickly slipped on my tab leather jacket and my combat boots. I snatched my phone and made my way out.

It was quite chilly out, I crossed my arms and shivered. As I was walking, I passed a ally. I saw a blonde girl and a brunette boy sucking on a squirrel. I gagged and hid behind a trash can and watched.

"Hurry up! Your taking all of it!" The blonde hissed. The guy's teeth released from the animal and he handed it over. "Thanks Louis, I was starving." Louis? That name rings a bell. Thats right, he's in Mr. Hanes class. He sits behind me. Why the hell is he sucking a squirrel? I decided to get up and continue my walk. As I got up, I knocked down a metal garbage can, making a huge crash noise. Their heads both shoot my direction. The blonde girl smiles evilly and starts towards me.

"Look Louis, just what we need." She says, licking her lips. Louis just stands there, swallowing. I slowly back up as she slowly comes closer. I was too scared to run, or to do anything. Her cold hand grasps my hand and she puts her head by my neck.

"You would make a great dinner." She whispers, warm breath against my neck. Before she could do anything, Louis rushes over to me in the speed of light. He throws her off of me and picks me up. "Come on Louis, theres enough to go around." She adds. Louis ignores her and we races down the street. We were passing houses like a speeding car. He was a super fast runner, it was actually quite fun.

"Louis, what are you doing?" I asked, gripping onto his shirt even tighter. He doesn't answer, he just continues running. We stopped once we reached an apartment complex. He opens the door and throws me down on a red couch. He rushes into a room, coming back out without a shirt. He was revealing a nice six pack. I try not to stare because I have a boyfriend.

"You'll be safe here." He says with a strong british accent. I nod and stare back at his pack. "Want something to eat?" He offers. I nod and he goes off into his kitchen. I get up and look around at all the pictures on the wall. They look out of date, like from over 50 years ago. I see a resemblance of Louis in every photo, which is insanely creepy.

"Here you are." Louis said, handing me a apple. "Thanks." I mutter. We both sit down on the couch and sit in an awkward silence.

"Louis, what were you doing in that ally?" I say, breaking the silence. He looks at me and freezes. It's like he is too scared to tell me or something. "Something wrong?" I add. He snaps out of it and looks back at me. "I was uh...hunting." He lied. I took a bite of my apple and cleared my throat. "For squirrel? You eat squirrel?"

"Uh yeah, I like it." I cringe and finished eating my apple. The whole time, he was watching me eat, like he admired how I ate or something. I took out my phone and glanced at the time.

10:45 p.m.

"Thanks for the apple, I have to go now." I get up and walk towards to front door. Louis quickly stands in front of it, holding the door knob.

"Where are you going?" He asked.

"Home." I snap.

"No, I will not let you."

"Why?"

"It's unsafe, you will get lost." I rip his arm off the door and it swings open. I storm out and slam the door behind me. There was no way I was staying at that place.
