Thowheed Part 1

Believe in the oneness of Allah is called 'Thowheed'.
Thoweed is the most important part of the six principles of Imaam.
The completion of Islam is based on thoweed. The first kalimah declares that "There is none other god worthy of being worshipped expcept Allah and Prophet Muhammed (S.A.W) is his messenger" without the kalimah the doctrines of Islam will remain full of defects. So, it is clear that the foundation of Islam-shahadha emphasizes Thowheed.

The preachings of Al-Quran and Hadhees always gives a prominent place for the concept of thowheed.
Surah Ihlaas is an ideal example for this. Oneness of Allah could be clearly understood through this surah.

"Say [oh Muhammed (S.A.W)] He is Allah, the One, the eternal, absolute
He begets not, nor was begotten and there is non like unto him;
[112:1-4]
Al-Quran also mentions as follows;

"If there were, in he heavens and the earth, other gods beside Allah , there would have been ruin in both! But glory to Allah, the Lord of the thrones [high is he] about what they associate with him!"
[21:22]

Prophet Muhammed (S.A.W) who preached about thowheed throughout his life has strictly warned about shirk, idol worship and following unhealthy desires of mind. He has mentioned as, "idol worship is a disgusting act of shaitaan"

Allah the Almighty is merciful. He forgives all the other sins of human except shirk, but he never forgives shirk. He doesn't permit us to compare a partner to his attributes or actions this alone is sufficient to prove the importance of Thowheed.

The most important mission of Prophet Muhammed (sal) and also the prophets who came before him was to guide people towards thowheed. Prophet (sal) looked at his people and said;

"Oh! People, la ilaha illallah, you will succeed"

And he also said,

"The word ilah and illa are the most admirable words pronounced by me, and the prophets before me"
[Buhari]
