Chapter 1: A Nap

Author's Note: Welcome to my second Young Justice fan fiction with this one being around none other then Superboy/Conner Kent. I don't own DC or Young Justice but this story went on from off the top of my head. Hope you guys like this.

"Come on Teo. Lets get you to bed" The brunette's mum said as she helped her daughter get to her bedroom. "Thank whoever that tomorrow is...tomorrow...too sleepy and hungry to think" Teo mumbled back. Making her mum chuckle. "Welcome back dork...don't you think she should have something to eat first mum?" her brother said. Opening the door to his bedroom. Only for their mum to tell him to go back to bed. Before she told her daughter that she would let her sleep for as long as she wanted before making her favourite for breakfast. Just how her Oma would make it. "Night mum" Teo mumbled as she started to suck her thumb like she did when she was little. "night night darling...I'll see you soon" her mum replied with a soft and quiet giggle before closing the door. Letting her daughter sleep. Meanwhile at Mount Justice. A party was going on. Even though a snowstorm was raging outside. "You enjoying the party here?" Robin asked as he handed Zatanna a piece of cake. "Sure. This place make me feel like I'm home already" Zatanna replied. The boy wonder being able to tell that she was being sarcastic. Following what happened to her dad. "Do you think we should tell him?" Artemis asked as Robin tried to make her feel better. The blonde haired archer glancing over at Miss Martian and Kid Flash. Or as they knew them while not being heroes: As M' Gann M' Orzz and Wally West. The young speedster helping himself to a large piece of one of his birthday cakes while the shapeshifter just glanced at her crush turned boyfriend. Remembering the mission in Bellrev where they both kissed while being undercover. 

"You know. If I tell you my birthday wish. It isn't going to come true" Wally said with a smile. Still being unaware that his crush was now dating someone else. M' Gann snapped out of her thoughts and chuckled before giving him a peck on the cheek. "Your getting really warm babe. I could make you warmer still" Wally flirted before M' Gann went to Superboy and Artemis whispered that his crush was taken. Suddenly the lights in the cave started to flicker for a second. Making the heroes take notice. Robin saying that he didn't think it was Batman and the league forgetting to pay the electric bill. The lights then cut out completely for a few minutes before they came back on and an alarm started to sound. Saying there was trouble close by. The boy wonder looked at the computers and said that something was by the cave only around ten miles from where they were. Batman said that there was a mission where a young princess needed a heart transplant. But said that the league would handle the princess's transplant while the team investigated closer to Happy Harbour. The team nodding in agreement as Wally's uncle Barry got ready to leave and then did so with Batman. The dark knight via zeta tube while The Flash used his speed. Leaving the teens alone in the cave. Kid Flash said he was the fastest and used his superspeed to change into his costume. The others telling the speedster that he could go first followed by some of the others who could leave now. While some quickly changed so they could better deal with the weather outside. The speedster nodding in agreement and understanding before he used his powers and special goggles against the blinding snow he now faced outside. Yet as he ran he didn't really know what he was looking for. Part of him not knowing if he saw something obscured by the snowfall as he ran until he then heard a scream. But it sounded like it was from somewhere behind him. Also telling that it didn't sound like it came from Artemis, M' Gann or Zatanna. He then looked back in front of him and skidded to a halt finding a bed that was in pieces just laying there in the snow. 

The speedster told his teammates about what he found and heard. But Robin said they hadn't found anyone outside yet because of all the snow. Informing his best friend that they would keep an eye out for anyone in trouble. But still be cautious as well for if a threat was out there. The rest of the team caught up with Wally and M' Gann asked why a bed would be outside in the middle of a snowstorm. Robin noticed that not everything from someone's bed was there. Spotting amongst the broken pieces of bedframe that there was a mattress and a pillow. And even some cuddly toys with one being of the orange clad turtle Michelangelo from the ninja turtles. But there was no bed quilt and he noticed something else laying in the snow. Superboy noticed too and picked it up seeing it was a small folder containing photographs of a dog with a young child. Conner said in his mind that something with the girl looked familiar. But he didn't know what yet. Zatanna was about to cast a spell to see what happened but Batman informed the team via com link that a silent alarm had been triggered at the cave. Aqualad said that the bed might have been a diversion to distract them and both Superboy and Kid Flash raced to get back to the cave. The others swiftly following behind them. Wally got there first and quietly stopped himself. Deciding to wait for the others if the threat was someone like Klarion. Thinking he would have a better chance with his team being together then by himself going against the chaos lord. Superboy and Robin then showed up soon with M' gann, Artemis and Zatanna. All of them hearing the sound of music playing again. Even though earlier they turned it off. And heard the sound of someone eating.

"Aw man. I still haven't gotten to finish that cake" Wally muttered as a frown tugged at his lips. M' Gann said that she could make him another one to make up for it. Before the team then decided to surprise the uninvited guest and came out of hiding ready for a fight. Yet much to everyone's surprise when they did. They found a teenage girl now laying on the floor. Now no longer eating but trying to sleep. her feet and hands appeared to be slightly blue as she shivered and shook. Snow in her hair and cake frosting on her face. Her damp bed quilt she was trying to hold onto not really doing herself any favours. But she still held onto a teddy bear that was in a fruity outfit but looked old and had seen better days years ago. "I think we've now found who the bed belongs to" Robin said looking slightly surprised yet not entirely seeing her as not being a threat. Wally then saying that he didn't know if his party gate crasher was a run away, homeless or both. But said that she needed help none the less from how things looked. The others noticed how Conner was looking shocked and confused at the girl. Before what the Kryptonian said next surprised them all even more. "...I think I know her" Conner said. Leaving them all to wonder what was going on as the party music continued to play. All while they looked at what the heroes thought was a total stranger.
