"Ugh, are we there yet?! I'm starving!!!" Rayo groaned, taking heavy baby steps while looking up at the green, treetops above him before tripping over a little twig on the leafy forest floor.

PFFFT-" " BAAHAHAHA" The two cackled, their laughing echoing off the dark brown trees, making Rayo think the whole damn forest was laughing at him.

" How's the dirt taste..? Yummers ain't it..? " Timber giggled, smirking at Rayo, her tail flickering in the air mischievously.

"Very funny... Very funny indeed..." Rayo pouted, crossing his arms, spitting out dirt and sticks and other unknown substances.... " Let's just go find some food, this forest is as bare as a tree-" " You stupid idiot...they ARE trees..! " Timber snipped, slapping his big ears. Charlie stood there watching... he was getting bored of walking and listening to these two fight like 6 year olds. Plus, Timber was quite open to bullying Rayo, they weren't even around eachother that long, only a week or so.

"Let's just.. keep moving, we'll find food soon enough, plus, it's only sunrise, we have plenty of time" Charlie sighed. "Yeah stop waddling and start walking Rayo" Timber yawned, giving Rayo a snarky glare.

*********

" My feet hurt..." Rayo groaned. " Rayo, I swear to god... " Charlie growled. "Are we there yet..?" " SHUT UP..!" Timber and Charlie barked in unison.

"Okay..! okay...! Jeez..." Rayo muttered. Looking down at the ground, the forest floor was scattered with dry pine needles and sharp rocks, to a big baby like Rayo, every step was painful as stepping on Legos.

Rayo looked at the trees, nothing but grown logs of boredom... Until something bright red caught his eye, the end of an arrow... "What the hell...?" "What's wrong Rayo?" Charlie whispered, raising an eyebrow. Rayo pointed to the tree, his jaw dropping as he pulled it out, it was pretty fresh, the dent in the tree was a bright healthy green. "Crap" Timber scowled "Holy Crap".

The 3 of them stared at eachother, unaware of who's arrow that was, and where the owner is, but picking up their pace, they hurried through the forest, glancing around them occasionally.

"The map here says the halfway point of the forest is split by a small river, a rocky mountain hovering to the boundaries of the forest" Timber sighed.

"Come on, let's get a move on, there's still a long way to go, plus, we are running out of food, we only have a little left.." Charlie grumbled, encouraging the two to get a move on.

*********
"Ah, finally" Timber yawned, they had come to the halfway point of the forest, deciding to come right up to the river, they had come across a very convenient yet small cave barely able to fit 3, the clearing was sheltered by sheer rocky edges jutting out like a roof, while the river was a clear cold snake, it's soothing white noise in sync with the trees rustling in the wind, swaying in tune with the sounds of nature.

" It's quite beautiful" Charlie gasped in awe, " look at the rocks, the mountain is huge! And the river? It's clear as air!" "Yeah... Wow" Timber scoffed. Assuming Rayo would have said something about now, they spun around to find him drinking from the- *SPLASH* Uhm... In..the river...

"RAYO YOU IDIOT GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE!!!" Charlie howled, racing after Rayo who was floating down the river.

************
Rayo sat down shivering under the jutting out rocks wrapped in a towel staring into the trees lost in thought.

" I'm cold... "

"SHUT UP RAYO!!"

***********
A few hours later, after the three set up a fire nearby the cave mouth, they noticed the purple/red-ish sky began to grow dark, reminding them occasionally with a whisp of cold evening air running through the cave, making the fire dance around, crackling, little sparks flying out onto the rocks surrounding the base at times, it was the perfect night.
