Late one evening after two college students, Parisa and Collen. They were both seeking shelter from the downpour running into their campus's library. Parisa went there often, while Collen had never step foot in a library in his life he felt. They both entered on different sides of the building through the double doors. The sound of rain pounding against the doors behind them. Collen made his way towards the stairs to the second floor, taking a glance at Parisa not far from him. A sweet student he recognized, but he said nothing to her. She had long brown hair that went down to her waist. A black turtleneck on with short blue shorts, and cute little heels. Having seen her before, he debated on saying hello, but he saw her pass the front desk and a lady there waving hello to her. So, he continued walking to the stairs.
Parisa stayed on the first floor, walking past the front desk, and waving to the lady who said hello to her. "Good afternoon, miss. Quite the downpour huh?" Parisa nodded and smiled, "Yes, I am going to head back to the fantasy section till the rain dies down if you don't mind." The lady laughed, she had short blonde hair and wore a white button up shirt. Her laugh was quite nice from what Parisa could tell. "Be my guest, I see you here nearly every day always reading. Have fun." She nodded and walked back through the aisles of books, but one was standing out to her.
Same for the man above her, walking through the horror sections on the second floor, a book caught his eye. It was shining red, he walked closer and closer to it. Seeing the words in gold on the spine reading; The Book of Hell. He laughed to himself quietly wondering what it was. Shaking off the glow as a trick of the light. He picked up the book. At the very same time just below him Parisa was reaching out for a glowing gold book with words in white that read, The book of Heaven. As they both reached for each book and held them in their hands. The whole room seemed to get dark for them. It was already dark from the rain outside and the dark clouds above. The library wasn't lit well either, but this was different.
The room was even darker the lights dimming more, and their hearts began to race. Hugging the book close to her chest Parisa looked out Infront of her. As she saw an old lady with a gold cane start to walk out from the darkness and into the seemingly spotlight that was upon Parisa. The woman gave a sweet smile as she walked into the light, the wrinkles on her face were large but a heart of gold shined through in her eyes. She moved a bony hand from her cane and pointed out to the book in Parisa's hand. She wore a pink dress and a lighter pink bandana over her white hair that was a light pink underneath it all as well. But it looked natural? How strange... No one can have natural pink hair. She gave a bright smile as she reached her hand out further pointing to the book.
"It has chosen you." The old lady said in a rough and sweet voice. "W-What...?" Parisa said back. Just above the two was Collen looking at the glowing book in his hands and laughing to himself more. Before he went to open it someone else came out into the shadows before him into the light. An old man with a grey cane. A terrifying smile with red eyes, black hair, and deep wrinkles on his face. Sharp nails on his fingers and a slick black suit. He as well pointed out a long bony finger with the unusually sharp nail, like the sharp teeth in his smile. "The book as Chosen you." Collen scoffed and held the book close in his hands. "You must be crazy he said," Then looked around at the ceiling above him. "Some joke?" He asked. But the old man just gave a laugh, a deep guttural laugh that would make any small child run and cry for their mothers. Collen felt a shiver go up his spine as he looked back to him. The man repeated, "The book has chosen you. Don't believe me? Then why is it trying to force itself open in your hands?"
"It has chosen you," The old woman repeated, Parisa shook her head quickly, "No ma'am it's just a book. Do you need help?" She took a step closer giving the old woman a worried look, "Were you driven in from the rain? Are you ok?" The elderly lady chuckled and shook her head softly, "No my dear, I am quite alright. What a fine young lady it has chosen too. If you don't believe me, I understand." She gestured to the book, "You may feel it start to force itself open in your hands, maybe that will convince you this is all too real."
