"Come on Annika! You promised that if you lost the bet, you would do it!" ,whispered my best friend Chresia.

I sighed and looked into the depths of the forest in front of me. Chresia had bet that I couldn't find 5 frogs by the lake in 5 minutes. Turns out, I couldn't. It was such a stupid bet, and now I have to do something even stupider, and more past the dangerous line. I have to spend at least 30 minutes in the forest. Even though my dad, Teddy, strictly forbade me from entering it at night.

"I'm waiting", Chresia giggled.

I nodded, and without a second thought, turned and walked into the forest.. I heard all sorts of sounds, but they didn't scare me. Being the bookworm I was, I read a book about forest sounds, and memorzed most of them. The sounds I heard weren't dangerous.

I had walked a good 15 minutes when I heard an in-human growl. It caused me to stop dead in my tracks. That was not an ordinary wolf bowl... That was a werewolf bowl. I heard that these woods were where most werewolves took shelter on a full moon. Mentally slipping myself, I looked up into the night sky. Sure enough, it was a full moon. I gasped as I heard rustling in the area around me.

Oh no....

A medium sized werewolf emerged from the dark shadows. I started backing away slowly, carful not to make any noise. Bad luck came my way, for as I was placing my foot back on the ground, I heard a large snap. The werewolf must have heard it too, because its head jerked towards me.

It bounded towards me at an in-human speed. I started screaming, "HELP, WEREWOLF, HELP PLEASE", while running through the thick trees. I heard my dad in the distance yelling, " I'M COMMING ANNIKA, HOLD IN THERE SWEETHEART!!!!!"

I quickened my pace while getting struck in the face by a low branch. I let out a huge OOMPH while falling backards. This was it... My like flashed before my eyes... It was a short life. I'm only 9 1/2!!! I felt the humongus beast's breath as it stood over me. I whimpered, knowing there was nothing I could do..

The large beast howled, as it sunk its large teeth into my right arm. I yelled out in pain, and thrashed around. Suddenly, I heard rushed footsteps, and my dad yelling a spell that sent the werewolf to fly backwards in pain. That's all I saw before darkness envelopes me...
