Prompt: Andy is scared to come out as bi to her family, scared she'll get the same treatment Michelle did and she really doesn't want to lose the last of her family.

So I have so many ideas for Station 19 fics that I'll probably keep coming out with new ones while also updating older ones PLUS my other fanfics(Supergirl, Glee & The Fosters). I'm really trying to write as fast as I can but I do get stuck sometimes. I just hope people are enjoying my fics. Anyways,

Chapter One

Andy was sitting in her office, going over reports when her mind drifted to how she was going over to dinner with her family tomorrow night. Then her mind drifted to Vic. Vic her lovely, wonderful girlfriend. I need to protect her. I have to protect her.

While Andy was panicking about the dinner the rest of the team was out in the barn stocking and cleaning the trucks when Maya brought up their captain.

"Has anyone else noticed that Andy's been acting weird?"

Vic looked up at her with a 'what the fuck are you doing' expression on her face.

"She has been acting weird for the last few weeks now that you point it out," Travis added.

"She's just adjusting to being captain, guys. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about."

"Well, a distracted captain doesn't make a good one." Theo butted in.

"Neither does an overly cautious one yet we survived with you." Vic bit back and some "oohs" were heard through the barn. Vic smirks to herself.

There were a few minutes of silence before someone spoke up again.

"Seriously though," Sullivan started, "No one knows what's going on?"

"She's your ex-wife. You would know her the best." Maya said, scrubbing a side of the truck.

"I may have been married to her but that doesn't mean I knew every little thing about her.," Robert said.

Vic looks at Maya and they shake their heads. They get back to working on the trucks when Andy walks in.

"Hughes, BIshop, Montgomery, can I talk to you please?" Andy waited long enough for them to nod before she turned around and walked back to her office.

Maya, Travis, and Vic made their way to the captain's office a minute after. Vic knocks and hears Andy call out "Come in."

"Close the door please," Andy asked.

"What's going on captain?" Travis asked.

"I have a new firefighter coming to join the team and normally I would be the one to do this but since I'm captain I'm asking you."

"Asking us what?"

"I want you three to mentor and help her," Andy tells them and then turns to Vic. "Vic, you know her."

"Who?"

"Kat Noonan. I want you to help mentor her. Maya, you're a lieutenant so I want you to shine your experience and knowledge on her. Travis, you're compassionate so I want you to rub some of that off on her. And Vic,"

"And I'm the funny one so I"m guessing you want me to be the one to keep her spirits up if they ever drop and you're not around."

"Wow. You got it in one." Andy smiles. "But yes." Vic, Travis, and Maya chuckle. "Look, I picked you three because right now you're the ones I trust the most and I want her to have a safety net to fall back on."

Maya, Travis, and Vic look at each other.

"Well, we're more than happy to help out," Travis told her. He stared at Andy and saw the bags under her eyes. "Captain, forgive me if this is too forward, but is everything okay?" Travis watched as Andy's gaze fell to the floor for a second before she sighed and looked back up.

"I'm just a little stressed. Finally getting the captain job is what I've dreamed of but there's so much more work."

"I know there's a lot of paperwork," Maya started. "But there has to be more to this. You've been off for weeks now."

"Andy, you know you can talk to us. Especially since we know about you and Vic." Travis told her, moving to sit down on one of the chairs while Andy moved to her chair. "We just want to help you. Please tell us what's going on."

Vic walks over to Andy and rests a hand on her shoulder.

"Ans, please talk to us." Vid places a gentle kiss on Andy's head.

Andy sighs. "So, I've been hanging out with my extended family a lot more lately and getting closer to them."

Maya butts in. "We know." Vic glares at her. Let her finish. Vic's expression said.

"As I was saying," Andy said after glaring at Maya. "I've been getting closer to them and as you know, Michelle is gay," Andy watches Travis and Maya nod. "Well, when Michelle came out they didn't take it well. They still don't."

Travis, Maya, and Vic have a lightbulb moment.

"Oh." Travis slips.

Maya and Vic just shake their heads at him.

"So you're worried about telling them?" Maya asks in a gentler tone now.

"I'm terrified of being iced out, yes." Andy rushed out.

Vic turned Andy's chair so that she was looking at her.

"Baby," Vic makes sure Andy is looking her in the eyes. "No matter what happens with your family you always have the family you've built here." Vic pulls her into a hug. "You can count on us, okay? We will never let you go through this alone."

Vic looked at her girlfriend's watery eyes when she pulled away. "I love you, okay." Vic kissed her. "No matter what you will not lose me. I'm by your side forever and always, okay?" Andy smiles and leans forward to kiss her again.

"Um. guys." Vic and Andy hear Maya say and pull apart. "We're still here." The four firefighters laugh. "We should get back to work Travis."

Andy nods. "Vic, you should as well." Vic pulls Andy in for another kiss after Travis and Maya leave.

"Andy, when is Kat going to start?" Vic asked, walking to the door.

"She'll be starting next week." Andy pulls Vic into another kiss. "As much as I'd love to keep doing this, I have to send an email to Ross." Vic nods and leaves the office. Andy sighs and leans back into her chair, thankful for her girlfriend.
