I fight to open my eyes against the bright light placed over me. The pounding in my head intensified as I push myself to sit up straight. I quick look around and I knew I wasn't home.
Home...
Flashes of glass shattering and Carters voice fill my head making the pounding worse. I try to grab my head with both hands in failed attempts to make the pain go away. My body ached as my head starts throbbing making my body react by giving out on me and making me lay back down. I looked around trying to guess where I was but that damn light is to bright to see. I open my mouth to call out to anyone but come short in words to say. Nothing comes out as I force air out of my lungs.
Where the hell am I? This can't be a place I've been before. I can't see past my damn nose or this light. Why can't I speak how long have I been out? My mouth feels like sand paper, I have to try I just need to call for help.
Before I can begin my second attempt in calling for help I hear a door open and close to my right. My body stiffens and my heart starts pounding. A hand touches the side of my face and my breath catches in my throat trying not to show fear. I close my eyes and pretend to be asleep as the stranger sits at my bed side. The cold calused hand slides down my arm to my hand and locks around my fingers sendin chills up my spine.
'Um... I don't know what to say anymore. You've been getting worse everyday and I don't think they can bring you back. At least you are still here right... With me I guess.' The voice that speaks to me is familiar but more then ever.
Carter!
' I just want to know if you can hear me. Give me anything at all some form of communication! Please.... I miss you a lot. I still can't understand why you choose this vessel but now that I see it I think it suits you well.' I felt his hand move from my hand and touch my face. I slightly open my eyes and see him leaning down towards me.
No!!
My body burns and the pounding gets worse like my skull is being crushed. A scream rips through my throat and echoes off the walls. I can hear a terrible tearing noise making my stomach turn. As the burning intensified the pounding in my head started to fade. A strong hand slams against my shoulder forcing my back to the bed.
'Abscondunt, umbrae!!' I couldn't understand what was said but my body seemed to react.
The burning felt like it was being pushed deep into my lungs making it hurt to breath. As quickly as the episode came it was gone, leaving me at a lose for what just happened. My back rested on the cool damp bed under me making my temperature lower. Heart pounding and body aching I laid there trying to wrap my head around what just happened. I could still feel Carters hand on my sweaty shoulder pushing me down.
What is happening to me? Ever since he showered up and m-
I looked up at the bright blue eyes staring at me. My face burned hot with embarrassment as I looked around. Something was off about this place. It was ice cold and it smelt really damp not like when I first woke up. I grabbed Carters arm and pushed it to the side so I could sit up. Pulling on him didn't seem to do anything to him, I was weightless compared to him.
'Carter.... What is happening to me?!' My voice cracked and sqeaked like I was a boy hitting puberty. At first he said nothing and just stared for what seemed like hours. Examining me like I was a new type of bug to him. The anger in me created a pit in my stomach making me want to scream but instead I felt hot tears roll down my cheeks.
Damn...
