The drive to campus was longer than usual, but I got there anyway. I was kinda hoping they were taking me somewhere else, but they took me to campus anyway. Going to college sucks. I kinda wish I didn't win that 'scholarship' to go to college at age 14. So many numskulls, don't know how to do anything. Those type of people should just drop out, probably gonna join the Fallout Boys.

When I got out of the car I headed to my first class. Mr.Karnio. Everybody hates him, and lucky me, I got stuck with him. For the whole semester. Stupid history. Why are the history teachers always mean?

Mr.Karnio was really mean today. He sent Sara to the deans office. Sara is so nice though. He got mad at her for taking her shoes off in class and putting them up on her desk. That really sucks for Sara, because that's not all she's done before. She once held a party at her sorority house, and some kid banged his head on the pool floor because Sara accidentally pushed him in. So that got her suspended from her classes for 3 weeks. Lucky. I would pay to not have to go to class. But anyways, because this happened, they made her take high school all over again! They said she needed to be taught discipline, so they sent her to high school. They're right. High school is discipline.

After class I went for a walk cause my next class was in a half hour. I walked to Ali's high school. I saw her with those girls. Spencer, Aria, Emily, and Hanna. Why are they friends with her? She's so rude to everyone. She hates me just for being alive. Then again who doesn't. Anyways, when I went back to campus, I saw that boy. Lorenzo. I love him so much. He'll probably never love me back though. I have as big of a chance as Sara Harvey coming back to college, which is a zero possibility. But today was different with him. Everyday, when I walk back from he trail, I see him, but he doesn't see me. But then, today, he did see me. And he smiled at me. Then started walking towards me. I was frightened and confused. When he came up to me, he started talking to me.

"Hey, Charlie, right? Well, I'm Lorenzo. You can call me Enzo. I've seen you around campus. Are you new here?"

Confused, in a distressed voice, I responded. "Yeah. I'm Charlie. I'm not new here. I've been here since last year. I got a scholarship and graduated at age 14. Guess I'm pretty smart, eh?" We both laughed. No one's ever done that, thought I was funny. " I'm a transgender. I used to be Charles. So basically-"

"I know what a transgender is, and I know that you are. I haven't told this to many people, but I'm a transgender. I used to be Lorena. It happened when I was 8. I didn't like who I was, so I told my parents what I was going through. All the people that were in my 2nd grade class just thought I was a new student and that 'Lorena' moved. So the only people that I've ever told are my family, a few close friends, and, well, you of course."

I was still confused. Why would he tell me? I asked him, not knowing what to expect.

"Why did you tell me? Out of all people? Why did you tell me, Charlie the trans? Everyone hates me, so why don't you?"

"Not everyone hates you. I know you were friends with that girl, Sara Harvey? She was nice, right? And what about your family's? They probably lo-"

"Before you even say it, no, my family does not love me"

"Well, I'm sure that's not true. They have to love you at some point. But anyways, I told you because I knew what you were going through, so we should go through it together. Charlie DiLaurentis, will you go out with me?"

I don't know why, but I was confused and frightened of what he asked me. Out of nowhere, I started running. Fast. I didn't want to answer that question because I knew people would look at me even more and my family would be disappointed in me for going out with someone 5 years older than me! I turned back to see Lorenzo trying to catch up to me and I heard him say something.

"Wait! Charlie! I have to say something! I'm 15 too! I got a scholarship and everything, I even went to your high school!

I stopped running. What did he just say? He went to my high school? Really? I started to look back at the time of when I got the scholarship. It was hard to remember, but I was surprised that I didn't realize...
*Flashback*
"Hi, Charlie, right? I'm Mrs.Lonker. It's nice to see you here!"

"Yeah, thanks for having me, but what exactly are we doing here?" They didn't really tell me what we were supposed to be doing, they only said that it was urgent and we had to go to the office.

Sitting next to me was some kid, I didn't recognize him, but I said hi.

"Hey. I'm Charlie. What's your name?"

"Hey Charlie, you can call me Renzo"

"Okay. Hey Renzo. Do you know why they called us here? Cause they didn't tell me they just called me here."

"Nope. They didn't tell me either. Guess we'll just have to figure out together." A long smirk slid across his face. I had a feeling he did know and he just didn't want to tell me. Just like every other knucklehead in middle school. I just wish I could get out of this place.

Mrs.Lonker looked like she was about to speak,
and what she was about to say looked important.

"Hey Charlie and Renzo. Today I've called you guys here for something important. So, Ms.Bantie and I have been looking through all the students scores and the last test. The last test was actually an sat prep. We want you guys to be prepared. So, when we looked at your guys scores, they were extraordinary! Both of you aced the test, but not only did you ace it, you both did the bonus question! You guys are learning prodigies and need to be taken to a school that suits your learning. You guys are being sent to college. The best college in Virginia. Here's your scholarships."

Mrs.Lonker handed me a scroll. I unrolled it and saw my name plastered on it, in gold italics. It was beautiful. I looked out the corner of my eye and saw that Renzo looked a little disappointed. I guess he doesn't want to leave his friends.

"Hey Charlie we decided that, Charlie? Charlie..-"
*Flashforward*
"Charlie? Are you okay? You seem a little dazed?" Renzo was talking to me and I was a little shocked. Oh my gosh, I just called him Renzo.

"Renzo? You're Renzo? You went to my middle school, and yo-you were in that room with.. me." I was a little disfigured but I pulled it all tog thee and started asking questions. "Why didn't you tell me before that you went to my middle school? Did you only tell me you were transgender because I went to your middle school and we're just like each other? Gosh, I feel so manipulated right now. Bye Renzo, nice seeing you."

"Wait! Charlie, I can explain!"

But it was too late. I had already took off running. It was time for my next class anyways. Renzo free. Ali free. Family free.
