Today, you're out shopping for groceries. This is a task that somehow had befallen you not too long after your living arrangement with Tails. He usually would go out on his own, but there were times that he would not go out at all.
After all, he had very good friends. Amy would sometimes swing by to bring him treats or extra dinner, Sonic seemed to always have so many chilidogs, though proved to be not enough for his voracious appetite, Tails, and you, the plus-one.

You can't sustain yourself on mints, chili dogs and occasionally Amy's leftovers, which has brought you to the produce section of the farmer's market.

"Can I buy these, please?" You say to the vendor, different vegetables cradled in your hands.

"'Course, here, let me take those from you here..."

"Ah, can I have these too?"

After successfully purchasing bundles of greens you wander the market. It's a decent walk from Tails' workshop, so you may as well try to make the most of your trip.

"FRIENDSHIP BRACELETS! MATCHING LOVERS' PENDANTS! BEAUTIFUL JEWELRY!" A young-looking mobian hawks out, and suddenly points to you, "You! With the bags!"

You pause and turn towards the teenager, giving them and their stall a quizzical look.

"Aren't you interested? I've hand-strung all of these myself, many of them would look great on you!" She beams with absolute confidence, gesturing towards the fabric display.

"Okay, kid, let's see what you've got." You decide to at least take a gander, you've always had a soft spot for pretty little things.

There's bracelets, indeed, that look more well-woven than you had expected for a young vendor. What catches your eye is a bracelet that is beaded with blue glass. It is probably the time of day, but the shimmer it boasts subtly reminds you of a certain fox's eyes. Would he like something like this?

Oh, perish the thought!

You wince at the fact you considered buying him a cutesy gift like this. It's not like you've ever given him a gift before, though you've certainly considered it, you've always held yourself back.

Besides, he wears chunky gloves and works all the time, he would never wear it, it'd get dirty.

"Anything you like? If you don't like a color on display I have some other options in storage!" The teenage vendor chirps.

"Actually, can I buy this one?" You sheepishly smile and pick up the glass bead bracelet you were previously staring a hole into.

Well, it doesn't have to be for him.

That's right, you just like the style!

'Cause it reminds you of Tails.

Shaking off the thoughts that make you feel guilty, you thank the vendor and tuck the bracelet in your bag next to the vegetables.

You're about to leave the market before a red SALE! sign catches your eye, and hey, even if you're technically spending your roommate's grant, a good deal is a good deal.

There's a shelf of different essential oils and extracts. Excited, your eyes surf the shelf for your favorite, but before you can find it a peppermint label reaches your vision first. On pure impulse, you pick it up and and bring it to the cashier.

When you regain consciousness, you're on the way back to Tails' workshop with the veggies you came for, a blue beaded bracelet that totally-does-not remind you of your favorite fox boy, and some peppermint extract in your back pocket.

"Hey, welcome back!" Tails waves at you as you step into the workshop through the open garage door. "This part of my project is puh-rett-y dull, it would have been nice to have someone to talk to while I worked. I'm glad you're back, now!"
