My jaw dropped at what he said, at hindi ako makapaniwalang dali-daling sinilipan ang bintana at tama nga ang sinasabi niya!
His chevy equinox was parked right across the other side of the road pero nakapatay na ang makina non.
Dali dali ngunit maingat naman akong bumaba at lumabas ng bahay. Pagkarating ay kinatok ko muna ang bintana para makuha ang atensyon niya.
Agad naman nito binuksan ang lock kaya agad akong pumasok sa loob ng kotse niya, pagkapasok ko palang ay agad ko siyang binalingan at nagtatanong ang mga matang tinignan siya.
"What are you doing here this late, Pax?" I asked him, sounding tired from everything going on today.
He let out a sigh and his grip in the steering wheel tightened, "I wanted to talk to you."
"About what?"
"About us." He replied, napamaang akong tinignan siya.
"What do you mean about us?" Nagtatakang tanong ko sakanya.
He shrugged, his gaze still straight upfront, avoiding eye contact with me. "Yeah, I know we haven't talk since that kiss we shared three days ago, so I wanted to talk to you about it and-"
"And what Pax?" I interrupted him, "You're already going out with my best friend so clearly, there's nothing to talk about. The kiss was nothing so forget about it already." I lied.
Who am I kidding? The moment our lips separated in the moment the kiss ended, I craved for more. My body desired and yearned more of his lips, but it's so wrong especially now that he's going out with Lu. My best friend for fuck's sake.
"That's the problem, Zash. I can't seem to forget about it." He said in a low voice, "I don't want to forget bout it." Pagtatama niya.
I looked at him incredulously, "What the fuck is wrong with you? Are you out of your mind?" Sunod sunod na tanong ko sakanya at hindi ko mapigilang taasan siya ng boses.
"Let me remind you again Pax, that Lucrecia, your girlfriend is my goddamn best friend and that kiss in the past and it meant nothing." Galit na singhal ko sakanya, pilit na ipaintindi sakanya na girlfriend niya ang best friend ko.
He turned to look at me,his brows were furrowed and he was turning crimson. He seems angry. "No, it isn't zash."
Umiling ako, "Well it is too me."
"Well, not for me, you and I know it meant something Zash. Why do you keep on insisting that?" He asked in a tautly manner.
"Because it's wrong pax, you know that." I said in a matter of fact voice, mas lalo lang lumalim ang gitla niya sa nuo dahil sa nasabi ko.
"So what if it's wrong?" He catechized which had me flabbergasted. I looked at him with pure disbelief and I felt all the anger inside me built up and was just ready to burst.
"What do you mean what if it's wrong? Are you fucking insane Pax?"
"What if i am starting to go insane Zash?"
"Yeah, and why's that? Because of some stupid kiss? Let it go, Pax. It was a mistake." I told him but soon regretted it but it was too late.
Pain clouded his features but it quickly faded and suddenly, his expression hardened.
"You're right, and I guess meeting you was also a mistake." He said in a cold voice.
