"See you in MIDDLE SCHOOL! Love you Alice!"
"Can't wait to see you next year, xoxo"
I read my yearbook aloud to myself. Elementary school has sped by. Now, summer has started, and I'm determined to make it one to remember! I pulled my phone out of my pocket and posted graduation pictures on my Instagram. Hopefully, everyone will like them!
What if everyone hates your posts? Your posts are always stupid! Just delete it! Delete all your posts! You're stupid!
My shaky fingers opened the picture. I quickly deleted it before anyone could see it. The voice in my head has been bugging me for ages. Ever since I remember, I worried and came up with situations that convinced me to do things that I would regret.
I stood up and sighed. I paced across the creaky floorboards in my room. In my house, the attic is my room. It's impossible to see the walls because they're covered with posters, drawings, and pictures that I took with my black Polaroid camera. Fairy lights dangled from the ceiling, hanging down here and there like icicles. My bed is pushed into the corner of the room. It's always covered in books and paper. My desk is pulled up in front of the window so the sunshine shines directly on me while I work. The window has blinds, but in between the glass and the blinds, there is space for me to sit. I sit there now, looking around my perfect room.
"Supper is ready! Alice, come down stairs!" shouted my Mum from downstairs.
I raced down the spiral staircase and barged through the western style door. I loved to push the door back and forth, and watch it swing on its hinges. I sat down at my seat for dinner, staring at the huge meal that had been
placed in front of me.
"Time to eat!"
