I stretched my arms tiredly. I got up, thinking it was time for school. I rubbed my eyes and looked at the bright red numbers. 3:00 A.M.! I still had 5 hours of sleep left! My friends and I were leaving at 8:00 sharp so we could get together for ultimate summer planning. I got up and went to sit in my window seat.
When I can't sleep I always go to my window seat, since it helps me fall back asleep. I rubbed my eyes and put my blanket up to my chin. I watched my eyes slowly close and I fell asleep again.
THUD
WHAP
WHAP
THUD
I jumped up with a start.
"What the heck!" I shouted. I looked at my window. Heaps of mud and sludge covered it!
"Ugh! That's disgusting!" I opened my window and some of the stuff fell off. I looked outside. The sun had just risen.
I jumped up and started to get dressed. I put on a white tank top with grey stars on it and my favorite pair of paint splattered shorts.
I grabbed my backpack and scribbled down on a piece of paper that I was going out and would be back for dinner.
And with that, I ran from the house and to our treehouse.
I ran through bushes and jumped over tree roots through a forest two blocks from my house. Most people referred to it as "The Angels Garden" because it was so beautiful. My friends and I found an old play house that hadn't been used for years. So, we cleaned it up and made it our own. I climbed the rope ladder to see that I was the first one here. Nice!
I settled into my bean bag waiting for the other two. Our treehouse was divided into three sections, one for each of us to design. We all chose the same paint color though. The tree house was painted camo colors on the outside and on the inside we had a solar theme with all our favorite things included. There was Neon Cat, Star Wars, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, and Adventure Time all painted into the walls. If it wasn't on the walls, it was somewhere though. We kept all our pictures, POP characters, and other merchandise inside our treehouse. You must think we are crazy, leaving all this expensive stuff in a tree house. Well, our treehouse and a door and windows all with locks and the ladder is controlled by a remote. Each of us has a remote that brings down the ladder or roll it up. Our stuff is always safe at the treehouse.
I heard the metallic click of the lock and smiled as my two best friends walked in.
"Hey Alice, did we leave you waiting?" My friend Harlee looked worried. She hated leaving people alone.
"Nah, I only got here two minutes ago."
Harlee sighed with relief. We all snuggled into our beanbags.
So, Alice. Harlee. I've got ideas for summer this year. This summer has to be the best one yet!"
Maya, was always the outgoing, bubbly one of the group. If Maya was with you, nothing was dull.
We sat in a circle talking for hours. I hadn't even noticed the sun went down. As soon as we had a map and plans written on a big poster chart, I ran from the treehouse. Darting passed trees and jumping over branches, the green blurred at my side. I ran in the backdoor to see both my parents talking quite feverishly.
"There you are!" My Mum snapped at me when I walked into the dining room. Our chandelier glittered above our heads and the table looked beautiful in the dim light.
I sat in my seat quickly, to avoid a lecture.
"What's for dinner?" I asked.
