After a filling meal of sushi, noodles, and a full bowl of rice, I leaned back into my chair.
"Full?" My Mum laughed at the way I was sitting. I scrambled back to my perfect sitting position. I always sat with my back straight and my shoulders relaxed because once, when I was a child, my Grandma told me that if I slouched a lot, I would grow up to become a hunchback. Now, I suspect that it's not true, but I still sit with a straight back, just in case it is.
My dad got up and left the table in his usual huffy way. He was always angry with us for some odd reason. We didn't push the dishes away? Watch out, Dad's pissed! We forgot to walk Squirt, our dog? Run! Dad's pissed! I raised my eyebrows at my sister. We had a way of communication that our parents couldn't figure out. We always knew what the other was thinking. Yes, we sometimes feel like shipping one another to the underworld, but most of the time, we are a team. My Mom stared down at her plate, which made her seem oblivious to our Dads behavior. She always does that. It seems like she doesn't care!
I sat in my room, talking to my friends. We made plans for each day of the summer.
Most people can't make plans as perfect as ours for the summer but, since my main circle of friends all live on the same street as me, it works out pretty well. I snuggled under my covers. Night time is my favorite time.
With my blankets over my head, I scrolled through the pages of Instagram. I plugged in my phone to my speaker, and let it play music quietly (and charge) as I drifted to sleep.
===========================
Hi, I don't plan on writing notes like this often so I'll explain this now: chapters are most likely going to be short and sweet but, I'm going to upload tons of chapters. I plan on writing in any spare time I have this summer. I'm hoping to be halfway through the story by June 20th! Hopefully I can achieve that goal. But for now, enjoy Alice's story, and listen to "Sloppy Seconds" By Watsky!
