If you are like me and heard that advertisement a million times,then congratulations! I hate them as well.
I,like many people have a bunch of questions about this laboratory and its beliefs and what it really does on the inside. But first let's start off what you're probably thinking about.
"What is the "fourth wall"?
From my research,it's a troupe that happens in Television shows,mostly in cartoons. The most well executed fourth wall troupe is from a children's animation from the well known animation company Cartoon Network. The show is called "The Amazing World of Gumball" It's still currently running on television having its debut in 2011.
The show follows a anthropomorphic family which has,two blue cats (both mother and son),two pink bunnies (Father and Daughter) and a walking orange fish going on various adventures that seems to happen because of the family themselves. I have to admit,I can understand why this cartoon is loved by adults and children.
In later seasons of the cartoon,they soon dive into a very unusual and unique way of the fourth wall troupe. You see,the "world" that they live in is deemed as weird and unusual and just like many other cartoons,unrealistic events happen. Then there was a episode that caught my attention.
The episode involved a dinosaur classmate going missing,the children along with their guidance counselor venture off to search for them. During their search,they come across a crack in the world that leads into a darker side.
They rip open the crack to reveal a gray space where the world's mistake laid there to rest and be forgotten by everyone.
But,I'll talk about the rest later. Let's get to the laboratory and the incident.
The question on your mind is "How could this possibly work?" and well I'll explain to you the best I could.
Firstly,they use these little pads and place them on your head and chest. After that,they would ask you to sit down and relax then proceed to ask you what cartoon world you like to "transfer".
From what one of the scientists explained to me,it's a type of "out of body" experience,you are still aware of everything and still in control but your "soul" is some other place or in better wording the cartoon that you picked. While being in the cartoon that you picked,users has described being able to interact and play around without messing up the cartoon itself.
Next,after you are satisfied with your experience,You'll regain control and will have some side effects such as : Dizziness,Headache,Nausea,etc. You know,all the good stuff! So the other question that's on your mind is "What if something goes wrong?"
And this is where the incident happened. Last week,a inter named Adeline Wilkinson's was demonstrating the newest addition of the simulation. From what her colleagues said about her is,that she's a optimist and hopeful for the future. Apparently,she was once pursuing art's and animation but took a hiatus due to a burnout.
She's very passionate about The amazing world of Gumball because the quirkiness and weird humor made her feel at peace. And reportedly when she was younger she made a "Oc" which is a fan made character that can be place into any show that you could think of.
On the day of the incident,everything seemed okay. Adeline was demonstrating like usual,got strapped up and preparing for the simulation. Everything went smoothly until...it was time to go back. Something went wrong and her "soul" became lost. Everyone was evacuated and refunded days later.
Adeline never woke up. She's okay,but now she's in a coma and doctors don't know when she'll wake up. I went over to the hospital where she resides and ran into her mother.
"My daughter is a strong girl. I know she'll pull through this. I believe in her"

Then I ask the mother if she was gonna file a lawsuit. She responded with "No comment" Then we went our separate ways.
As for now,the laboratory takes full responsibility for the incident and like always will try to cover it up with some deal to retract consumers again. Because there,rich white and dumb.
Since this incident has become public,social media has made uproar in anger about this and has made multiple petitions for the laboratory to shut down,sadly most of them have been taken down or deserted.
To end this article,I can say one thing for sure. Sometimes you should forget about your past and try not fixate on it. Yes,nostalgia is something that could bring many to happiness. Please don't try to shift back to when you were at the peak your happiness,just let it go.
