"Shh, you'll wake her up." I heard a husky voice whisper yell.

A laugh sounded in the distance. "Your the one with Bertha in your bed."

My head snapped up and I felt a weight on my body. I opened my eyes and focused on the large doona that covered half my body. Instantly I ripped it off and looked around myself.

An unknown room. It was obviously manly, with the lingering scent of cologne in the air. It was primarily wood, with the bed frame, table and draws all matching.

An unknown room. I slammed my hands on the side of the bed and jumped up. My feet landed on the floor and I cautiously made my way to the door. I flung open the door and sighed.

Jace.

"Why am I here?" I ground out as soon as I stepped out and saw his smirking face in front of me.

"Well Bertha Babe, you fell asleep." I wanted to punch the smirk off his face but I knew I couldn't loose all my good-girl façade.

I glared back. "You said you knew where I lived."

"No one was home, so I brought you here."

No one was ever home. I sighed to myself and leant against the door frame, relaxing slightly. I shouldn't have let my guard down. I shouldn't of let myself fall asleep. I shouldn't be here right now. But there was nothing I could do about any of those thing. I would have to play it cool and get out of here as soon as possible, hopefully blending back into the background.

"Uh," I stumbled out, acting awkward. "Can you take me home?"

He smirked down at me, his 6ft' 2 trumping my 5ft' 10. "Of course."

I mumbled a small thanks and followed him down the hall. The hall was littered with photos of family everywhere. I could see Jace with two people who I'm assuming was his parents. They looked happy, like a real family. I swallowed my jealousy and let my gaze fall to the floor as I walked.

"So how was your sleep?"

I flicked my head up and glared at the back of his head. "Brilliant."

He laughed lowly and led me into what seemed to be the kitchen. I headed for the door, before noticing two guys sitting on the bench.

Jace's two friends, who I can't remember the name of. Damn it.

One had curly blonde hair and blue eyes, resembling the surfer guy look. The other had brown hair and soft brown eyes. Both unlike Jace with his black hair and even darker eyes.

I stopped mid step and focused on them. They were both enthralled in a large packet of barbecue shapes, arguing over who gets more. They didn't seem to notice me.

"Oscar, you got more last time!" The brown-haired yelled.

"Yeah, yeah, Haines, your just saying that because you want more." Oscar, the blonde replied.

Jace walked up behind them and snatched the box of shapes out of Haines' hands. They both pouted and I let out a laugh.

Their heads snapped towards me and I covered my mouth quickly. Oscar was the first to move towards me.

"Bertha, is it?" I nodded, snickering to myself. "Well Bertha, I didn't expect you to be so, uh, damn."

I forced a blush and turned away, rolling my eyes.

"How haven't I noticed you?" Haines piped up, attempting to snatch the shapes back off Jace.

I fly under the radar. Never defying or saying things, out loud, that will get me noticed. My dark hair always down and covering my face. I didn't want attention. I couldn't have attention. I hung with the quieter people who could be considered nerds. They were kind and didn't ask too many questions. Which was very helpful in my situation.
