CHAPTER 9 HOW IT WAS FIRST magically turned itself back into the version I had saved all the way back when I was working on chapter 8, as an idea. I deleted that version (which was just one sentence) and wrote an entire chapter. I published it and went working on chapter 10 and above. A few months later, I noticed chapter 9 was how it was first. I thought this was a glitch and that it would appear differently on the screens of the readers. Then, I found out that wasn't the case by the people who sent screenshots of the chapter. (THANKS TO XItsJustSarahX phandemons and @sherry_aloha ! :D)

I had to rewrite the ENTIRE chapter, using the vague memories I had left from writing it months ago.
The car ride was long and bumpy. You were constantly thrown from left to right. An empty McDonalds cup, which also lied on the floor, rolled further towards you with every turn the car made. It eventually hit your arm. Some leftover of the 2 week old milkshake leaked out of the straw, and fell on your arm. You felt it running up your sleeve. You couldn't do anything about it, because when she noticed you.. well... You didn't know what would happen. But how would you explain how you got in the car? 'Yes, erm.. I fell through my iPad and teleported to your son's house, from which I ended up in your car. Sorry about that.' ...No.. you didn't think she would believe that.

The ride must have taken like two hours, but it felt like two weeks. The car finally stopped and the driver stepped out, taking the dog with her. You waited for a few minutes until you were sure they were gone, and attempted to stand up. Your legs hurt from being fold up for so long and you felt slightly sick. When you managed to stand up, your head bumped against the ceiling of the car. "Ouch!" With one hand on the hurt spot, you grabbed the handle of the door and pulled. The door didn't open. You felt panic rising slowly and tried again a few times. Of course it didn't open. Then you noticed a pin in the door, next to the window. It was pushed down. Apparently it was a bit of an old car. You pulled it up, and pulled the handle once more. The door opened. "Thank god.." You thought, while stepping out.

POV change

The door bell rang. "Who could that be?" I thought. I put down my coffee and stood up from my desk chair. The doorbell rang again. "Yes yes, I'm coming!" I said as I walked over to the door. I opened it.
I didn't get the chance to say anything, as the person immedeatly threw her arms around me and hugged me tight. "Hello son!" She said. "It's been way too long!" I now knew that it was my mom. "Indeed!" I said as I hugged her back. I felt something weird at my foot. I released the hug, looked down and saw a white, brown dog, chewing on my shoe. "Gizmo!" I said and picked her up. "How's it going buddy?" I looked at my mom. "Mom, you know pets aren't allowed in here, don't you?" I said, chuckling. "Yes I know! But I thought you'd be happy to see her after so long. And as long as she doesn't bark or drop a nice present on the carpet, no one will notice" "That's true." I said, laughing. "Come on in! I'll make you some coffee!" I carried Gizmo inside.

POV change

You stretched and looked around you. The car was parked on a parking lot. It was empty, apart from the few cars that were parked in the back. "Where am I.." You thought. Your view was slightly tunneled and it felt like you were watching yourself from a distance. This is called depersonalisation, which a person can experience when their brain is really tired.
"Maybe I can ask someone where I am?"You looked around again, but saw no one. You decided to, despite the unpleasant feeling, walk around this place, in an attempt to find someone. You decided to cross the road, but when you set one foot on the road, your view was immedeatly blocked by a huge truck with very big, yellow ad on it, which clearly wanted everyone to buy bananas of some sort of annoying company. When it passed, you crossed the road. Damn. That was close... The depersonalisation got worse and messed up your thoughts until the point where it felt like you were some sort of zombie. (Very, very tired brains). Without fully noticing the upcomming danger on four wheels, you wandered onto the next road. The driver seems to have dropped something because they aren't paying any attention to what's happening in front of them.
You heard the loud claxon of a car. From that moment, everything went really fast. You looked in the direction the sound came from. A car quickly approaches you. The next thing you heard, was rubber sliding over the asphalt. It was a high pitched, screechy noise. But it was already too late. You felt how the hard metal of the front of the car hit your body. It nocked you back. Your head hit the street very hard. From that moment, all noise around you became vague and your vision blurred.
You saw the door of the car open, and someone stepping out. You couldn't make out the face. It was one big blur. It felt like the muscles in your neck shut off. Your head fell sideways, so you were facing the sidewalk. You saw something small running to you, quickly followed by two feet. Yoy vaguely felt two strong arms getting under your knees and back, followed by the feeling of being lifted off the ground, before slipping away into the darkness.

Thanks SO much for reading! I hope you enjoyed it :3 Leave your thoughts in the comments! :D
