It had been two weeks since Sistemo had moved in with Hp.
Sistemo and Hp were out on a walk, when Sistemo had asked "I've been wondering, what's on the other side of that big crack" Hp had stopped walking, and after a moment "We-we're not supposed to know, the only thing we know about it is that, we shall never go there" Hp said in a serious tone "But, why not. I mean how bad can it really be over there" Temo said with its usual low voice "It doesn't matter, for generations it has been passed down to not go upon the other side" Hp replied still in a serious tone. Sistemo didn't say anything for a moment "What would happen if someone went over there" Sistemo said even though it was in its usual low uninterested voice, it had a hint of curiosity. "Listen Temo, it's better not to worry about it." Hp said, in a way that Temo knew meant not to talk about it anymore. They went back to their usual silence after that.
Later that day...
*Knock, knock* "Come in" Sistemo said, sitting up on its bed. Hp opened the door and went inside the room "So about earlier if you..." Hp hesitated for a moment "If you really want to learn about the crack, you should go to the library. Hp said with a little smile "Kay, thanks" Sistemo said going back to laying on its bed.
Next morning...
As Hp and Sistemo were walking their usual morning walk, they stopped at the library "Could we.. take a look" Temo asked, looking at Hp for a quick second. "Yea of course" Hp replied with his usual warm smile.
"Oh, hello" an uninterested voice said, as they entered the library . "Cillec! it's been forever" Hp said, referring to the person in the library. Sistemo was a bit confused, but didn't care enough to ask. They all stood in silence for a bit, the person still looking through some books. Hp then seem to have remembered, that neither of them talked much. "Oh that's right, I assume you haven't met yet. Well Temo this is Cillec, Cillec this is Temo" Hp said looking back and forth between them. Cillec then look up from his book "My name's actually Pencillec Ace" after having said that, Pencillec went back to looking at books.
"Well I actually needed a book anyway, so I'm just gonna be right over here" Hp had said to Temo, he had then pointed and started wandering off. Temo stood for a second, then remembered it came here to learn about the crack, but since it had no idea where to look, it realized it would have to be social. It took a deep breath and approached Cillec.
"I would like to learn about the crack" Temo said fiddling with its sleeve. Cillec looked up at Temo "Interesting" they stood in silence for a bit, it seemed a bit like Cillec was considering something. Temo didn't like it much though, it felt a bit...observed. "Well you see, I do have books about it, but to be honest I'm a bit of an expert on the matter...So if you wouldn't mind I'd love to tell you about it. Instead of giving you a bunch of books. "Okay" Temo said, since it didn't really care how it would get to know about the crack, and also it felt like it actually wouldn't mind spending more time with Cillec. Which was sort of rare, since Temo didn't really like people, and usually it would much rather not interact with other people. It wasn't sure why, but it felt rather comfortable around Cillec, despite not knowing him.
"Lovely" Cillec said. It sounded rather sarcastic, but Temo could tell it wasn't really meant to be sarcastic "Let's sit" Cillec said walking towards a couch. "Wait before we sit, would you like a cup of tea? Cillec said as they were standing by the couch "sure" Temo said, hoping it would be a tea it liked. "okey, well I'll go get us some tea then... uhm you can sit down if you'd like" Cillec said realizing Temo was still standing, probably wondering whether it was okay to sit down.
A few minutes later Cillec returned with two cups of tea, and sat down on the couch next to Temo "lets get to it then" Cillec said giving Temo its cup of tea. Thankfully it was black tea. Cillec then started talking like it was some kind of fairytale, who knows, maybe it was...
A long time ago, the Zachar lands and the Charle lands were one united land. The Zacharle lands. But then one day the two gods, Zachar and Charle got into an argument, about which cookie was better, the dark cookies or the light cookies. This argument had caused the citizens of the land to take sides. Those on the Charle side had gotten violent and had started to create the crack, while here on the Zachar side people had stayed calm and tried to convince the Charle side to stop... but as you know they didn't succeed. After that time they were two lands, and doomed to despise each other forever, that's why no one ever goes to the other side, it's just... a rule I guess.
"So yeah, that's the story, at least according to our books, but I mean anyone alive at that time is gone by now, so how can we really be sure?" Cillec said seeming rather excited to get to talk about this "do you think this isn't the real story?" Temo asked, noticing that it seemed like Cillec had more to say about this. "Well, I mean, I don't know something just seems a bit...off by this story. Like why would the Charles just suddenly get violent, specially over something so silly as a cookie" Cillec said, looking like it really wanted to know, whether his theory was actually true or not. "Well there isn't any way to really know is there?" Temo said, for some reason feeling a want to help Cillec figure this out "well...lemme show you something" Cillec said standing up, and walking towards some curtains that were basically a wall, he then opened up for some of the curtain. On the other side of the curtains were... the crack. Hoovering above it was the usual fog, making it nearly impossible to see the other side. The end of the building leading of the to the crack, seemed to have been sort off just ripped off, at the start of the crack. "As you can see, it would seem there was probably more to this building, and the crack seem to have split the building in two. So I wonder, what if they have different view of the story on the other side, I mean they must have some different books over there. But then again, there's no way to know for sure" Cillec looked a bit hopeless after that, Temo wanted to cheer him up, but it didn't know how, so it just stayed quiet. After that Temo and Hp went home, but Temo couldn't help but also wonder...
