Bruce Wayne is dead. It happened without warning, without clear reason. Only those who knew him the best truly know what happened. Well, those who knew him best and one unfortunate bystander.
Y/N Bullock was one of the only ones who were present for...
"This just in, millionaire, philanthropist, and businessman Bruce Wayne has been pronounced deceased."
A coffin is slowly lowered into a hole in the ground outside Wayne Manor.
"Bruce Wayne was most well known for starting his company, Wayne Enterprises, as well as his numerous donations to several charity organizations."
Alfred and Y/N, dressed in black suits, grab some nearby shovels and begin piling a mound of dirt into the grave.
"No further details have been given as to the cause of Wayne's passing."
Cassandra keeps a tight hold over Stephanie, both girls trying to hold back tears. Surprisingly, Cass is the one who struggles the most.
"We now go to Vicki Vale for an exclusive interview. Vicki?"
Y/N plants one last scoop of dirt into the grave and drops the shovel. He takes a few steps back from the grave.
"Thanks, Bob. I am joined by the CEO of Wayne Enterprises, Lucius Fox. Lucius, I know that you and Bruce were extremely close. Do you have any thoughts on this situation?"
The family each take turns walking to the grave and leaving an item on the dirt. Dick Grayson leaves his old acrobat uniform.
"I'm going to be honest... I never thought this day would come. Bruce always seemed immortal. He was the strongest man I ever knew."
Jason Todd leaves a tire iron, the same tire iron he used to take the wheel off of the Batmobile as a child.
"Bruce was more than a businessman. He was my friend."
Tim Drake leaves a Bat symbol with a yellow background, the same one from the Batman suit he once wore.
"I promise, Bruce. The company is in good hands."
Stephanie Brown leaves the utility belt she wore as Spoiler.
"Under my watch, Wayne Enterprises will not fall."
Cassandra Cain slowly approaches and leaves a book on Bruce's grave. The first book Bruce read to Cass. A tattered copy of Matilda by Roald Dahl.
"I promise you that, old friend."
Slowly, Clark Kent approaches the grave, a granite gravestone in his hands.

"Thanks for your time, Lucius, and I'm so sorry for your loss. Back to you, Bob."
Clark plants the gravestone at the head of the grave before wiping away a tear.
Alfred slowly approaches, clutching a piece of cloth in his hands. "I never thought it would end this way, Master Bruce." Alfred wipes away a tear and clears his throat before laying Bruce's cowl across the gravestone. "Goodbye..." Alfred steps away from the grave.
Slowly, the family starts leaving the grave. Eventually, only two remain. Cass' eyes stay fixed on the grave in front of her, not paying any attention to the presence of Y/N still at the grave.
Cass approaches the grave and crouches down. She runs her fingers across the inscription. She doesn't understand what it says, but she just knows that it's important.
Cass rests her hand on the top of the gravestone. Cass thought that it was impossible for her to cry anymore than she already has, but a single tear drops onto the dirt. "Bye... Dad..."

A/N Very short chapter, but an important one. Also, I really like Clark's design in "My Adventures With Superman."
