I wander upon an uncertain path
As it meanders into the darkness;
Eerie shadows look on.
And I, not knowing any better,
Trudge along cautiously.
Where the path leads to
I do not know.
Yet
I dare not look back.
- Don't need to hear
"I told you so!"
"How much further
Until I see some light",
I dare not ask.
For it seems to strengthen
The shapeless creatures of the night.
So
I trudge along cautiously
Summing all my courage and my strength
I am closer to where I want to be
And
Further from where I started
I have come too far to relent!
