Prologue

The past few days have been tense between Dante and Nero, since he refused to tell him about anything that happened in Hell.
"Why won't you tell me?!" yelled Nero.
Dante: Because you don't need to know kid.
Nero looked at the ground of the shop with a defeated look in his face.
"Can I at least know why my father is closed in his room since you guys came back?" Nero questioned with a little sadness in his voice.
"He just needs time, leave him be for a-" Dante got interrupted by a knock on the door.
"Hey smartass it says that we're closed!" Dante screamed at whatever had knocked.
"Please help me..." ??? whispered.
Nero: You think he's dead?
"Nah, he's probably napping, not like he's all bloody and stuff." Dante said sarcastically.
Nero: Come on uncle smart ass let's get him on the couch at least.
Nero used his mirage wings to carry the worn out boy on the couch.
Dante: He looks pretty roughed up.
Nero took off the boy's robe to reveal dark blue eyes and locks of white hair mixing with black.
"What the fuck..." Dante exclaimed very confused.
Nero: I'll go get dad.
Dante ignored his words instead worrying about the problem at hand.
As Nero climbed the steps he felt a certain feeling of fear rise in him.
'What if father had another son?' Nero questioned to himself in his thoughts.
The heavy climb was short lived. And Nero had to face his father after he came back from Hell for the first time.
Standing in front of the door, he decided the best thing he could do was knock.
Nero: Vergil? Can I come in?
Vergil: Yes.
His voice sounded growly and dark, like he hadn't spoke in centuries.
Nero opened the door and was greeted by darkness and the heavy air of the room, that hadn't been opened for weeks.
Nero: "We kinda have a problem."
"What is it that is so important you had to come get me?" Vergil asked with surprise heard in his dry voice.
Nero: Come see for yourself.

Meanwhile...
Dante had so many questions running through his mind that needed answers.
'Who is this kid? Who's this kid's dad? Where did he come from?' were just a few questions that came to his mind.
'Well it's obvious he has Sparda's blood in him, I can feel his demonic energy even if it's really dim.'
Nero arrived with Vergil with Dante still deep in his thoughts.
Dante: Oh, hey Verg.
"What the hell is this trickery..." Vergil stood there paralyzed just as confused as Dante.
Dante: I thought he might've been a trap, a doppelganger or something that someone created, but he's the real deal.
Vergil: I can't sense Sparda's blood in him.
Dante: What do you mean you can't it's obviously there even if- oh.
Nero: What the hell are you guys on about?
Dante: This guy is your cousin Nero.
Dante had many questions earlier, only one of them got answered while new ones formed.
Nero: What? He's your son?
"Little brother.. when did this happen?" Vergil questioned his brother in a soft understanding voice.
"Around the first time i dived in Hell I assume, after beating the crap out of The Despair Embodied." Dante said, realizing who the mother was, with even more questions rising inside him.
Vergil: Who did you impregnate brother?
Nero: Okay so, first, you should really fill me in on whatever you're talking about, second, Dad use less antique words.
Dante: Yeah Verg, get with the times.
"Foolish, both of you. Answer my question Dante." Vergil said with a stern voice and a dead stare in his eyes.
"I-It's Lucia." Dante stuttered maybe out of fear for what his brother might do or maybe out of shame.
Nero: Ain't that the Protector chick or whatever from Vie De Marli?
Vergil: It is.
Nero: Ohhh and you know because you old men were oh so busy killing demons in Hell and had enough time to talk about whatever Dante did.
Vergil: Your sarcasm disgusts me Nero.
Nero: Well sorry dad you're just gonna have to live with it.
'He called me dad again, is he starting to get attached to me?' Vergil thought, only smirking at what he just thought.
Dante: Umm I exist too you know??
???: Right dude like so rude!
Everybody shot up at the boy's remark, Dante especially.
Dante: Fuck's sake kid, learn manners!
Nero chuckled and had a smile of joy on his face, now not being the only kid around, while Vergil laughed at his brother's foolish attempt to scold the boy.
Vergil: Another little pest, just like you were brother.
???: Okay so everyone with white hair is rude, got it!
Nero: Have you seen yourself in the mirror jackass?Because you have white hair too ya know?
???: I hadn't thought of that.
Dante: What's your name kiddo?
???: It's Y/N, Y/N Redgrave.
Nero: Wait so my surname is Redgrave too?
Vergil: It's just what us Spardas use, since your grandfather was the one that founded Redgrave city.
Nero: Ohhh got it.
Y/N: Who are you guys?
Dante: So i'm Dante, your dad, the grumpy guy in the black coat is Vergil, your uncle, and the other kid is Nero, your cousin.
Y/N: Cool.
Nero: Woah don't get too enthusiastic!
Dante could just grin at the sarcastic remark, while Vergil stood there confused, not getting the joke.
Dante: Why are you here kid?
Y/N: Mom is having a rough time so she told me to come here.
Y/N started looking around the place, stopping his staring and getting up to get to the jukebox.
Dante: Kid you just collapsed on the doorstep, take it easy.
Y/N: So many cool shit! Let's go for some Nirvana!

Dante: Good choice kid, now, more importantly, why is your mom having a rough time?
Y/N: She didn't wanna talk about it.
Nero: We should go check in her Dante.
Dante: You can't fly kid.
Nero: Right...
Nero stood defeated, getting forced into babysitting Y/N while the Sparda twins got to fly away in the deep black night.
Y/N: They didn't even say goodbye..
Nero: Those old men aren't rude kid, remember that, they're always trying to protect what they love.

I'm gonna put a little like writer's note thingy at the end of every chapter because yeah, you can choose not to read it or read it if you'd like.
I don't know where I'll take this story, but I'll probably finish this book whenever Y/N unlocks his DT, i think I'll write a sequel too, but school is about to start so that might be slower. Anyways, this is gonna be the average chapter lenght, I usually won't write dialogue heavy chapters like this one, and I do without noticing, sorry in advance. Also i wanted to introduce Lucia in this story somehow since she's a really under used character, and Patty will pop up at some point too, maybe her and Y/N will fall in love? I'll think of what to do in the future, if you have anything u wanna say feel free to comment!
