"Yes, ma, whom you didn't tell about your college and new house."
She said and pushed her aside, she walked inside and checked the apartment
"What do you want ma?"
She asked giving her a glass of water
"I want to hear you."
She said calmly after taking water from her, and then sat down
"Hear?"
She was confused
"Why do don't you want to get married. I want real answer"
She said seriously, Manya's gulped, the real reason flashed in front of her eyes
"I actually want to hear you. Come on."
She said genuinely
Manya gulped and sat beside her, she had to come with something
"I don't want you to give anyone dowry."
She came with one of the reason
"Dowry?"
Her mother was confused
"Yes ma, i heard when that first family came, they asked for 40 lakhs, as a dowry."
She answered genuine. Her mother looked away.
"You don't have to worry about all-"
her mother tried to make her understand
"I feel like i have committed a sin by being a girl."
She said genuinely
"I know it hurted you, but this is how thing are. We can't do anything."
Manya got up
"What?"
Her mother asked
"Then we have no point of this talk."
She said with straight face
"Manya, you have to get marry and we will have to give dowry this is how all this works, if you like it or not."
Her mother said losing her patience, Manya didn't spoke anything, her mother calmed herself and spoke softly
"Okay you tell me what should we do about it. Every man wants dowry. And if someone doesn't then he has some problem. This is the reality"
"So we want you to marry in a nice family, so we have to do it. Everyone has to do this. We have no solution."
Her mother continued
"I have, how about if i won't get married."
She mumbled
"Huh? What did you say?"
Her mother was shocked
"I don't want to get marry."
She said with confidence, looking right in her eyes
"Have you lost your mind? With whom will you spend rest of your life? Do you want to live with us for always?, do you have any idea what people will talk behind our back. They will think you have some problem."
Her mother started scolding her.
"I don't care ma, i just want to care about my self, i am already so done with my life, please don't give me reason to give up."
