bachira is laying in bed when rin enters the room. he's reading a book and humming a tune rin can't recognise. it's strange to see bachira reading and not running around like usual and rin makes a strange face at the revelation.
"rin-chan! you're here!" the book is quickly forgotten and bachira shuffles over to make space for him on the bed.
"you don't have to move, there's a chair right there." rin tells him, affectionately patting his head. bachira leans into the touch and smiles up at him through his growing bangs.
"why sit when you can cuddle with me!" he laughs joyfully and spreads his arms out in invitation. and rin is only a boy so he falls into those welcoming arms that embrace him tightly and fill him with so many emotions. some he feels he'd be better off without. when rin pulls back the older finally notices the bag in his hand. "ooh! did you bring snacks?"
rin nodded. "haha! let me guess! is it hmm... canned pineapples?" bachira clapped happily but rin could only frown.
"you know you can't eat those. i'll ask them to get fresh ones next time." rin scolded him as he dropped down into the chair beside the bed. "it's just some egg sandwiches and banana milk."
bachira pouted but thanked him anyway, leaning over to try and grab at the younger again. they shared stories of their day as they ate, bachira enjoyed listening to rin and rin wasn't one to talk much but he'd do it for bachira. bachira spoke animatedly and rin spoke monotonously, a perfect contrast to each other that bachira pointed out repeatedly.
neither paid attention to the time and it passed far too quickly for either of their likings. when it was time for rin to leave, he placed his hand on bachira's head and just rested it there for a moment. after a passing second he placed a kiss against the crown of bachira's head and whispered a sweet goodbye that left the older with rosy cheeks and an all too wide grin.
"see you later rin-chan! i love you!"
